When my mother grew up, it was evidently was the custom to take fresh flowers from your yard or garden to neighbors on May 1, or May Day. Quaint, huh?

May Day always involved the first flowers of spring, and European and Scandinavian towns young girls would wear wreaths of flowers and perform folk dances. That was until the Soviet Socialist Republic came into existence, and turned May Day from a celebration of spring into their version of labor day, with the military marching in the streets along with parades of their armaments.
IMO, May Day is no longer a festival held to encourage their crops to grow, but these marches of the pro-illegals on May Day smack more of the Soviet version that what the original intent was. Illegals are the ones suffering under discrimination and they march against the elitists (the American people) who believe this country really belongs to us. Silly of us, isn't it?

Well, it seems then we must do some slamming as to why illegal immigrants pick May 1 as the new illegal immigrant day?

What does May Day have to do with making illegal aliens legal? Stupid damn people too ignorant to know American history. That is the the new thought pattern right?

I agree, cb. There needs to be a little more light thrown on May Day and whether they are supporting the agragrian (our crops are growing) festival or whether this is just an adoption of a Soviet style show of might. I suspect it may be the latter, as I haven't seen a flower worn anywhere in anyone of these May Day marches.

    May Day then and Now.

When I was child my grade school had a May Day festival. We had dances, food treats, flower shows and all sorts of fun activities. It was a celebration of Spring. Digressing about the dances, the rights of passage from sixth grade to seventh was a dance only the six graders were allowed to do called the "May pole dance". And the girls wore pretty dresses with flowers in their hair and the boys dressed in suits and wore a flower on their top pockets. I can still see the May pole after we did our dance and weaved large colorful ribbons all around the May pole and the parents and audience members cheered. And we students were so proud of our lovely accomplishment. It was an event that my school took great price in............ironically I also remember that before we ever started any activities and/or events we proudly stood up for the flag and put our hand over our hearts while singing the pledge of allegiance.

Now I think of May Day as the “Ilegals invasion steal money from American tax payer’s march and taco picnicâ€

Your the first person I have ever heard calling it, "the new illegal immigrant day".

May 1st. is many things to many people. I think the reason you hear so much about it now and in relation to the illegal invaders is because of its importance to the Communist. They also have many other associations with communism.

The real communist we have to fear seem to me are the ones in our own government.

I did a Google search on May 1 and Communism. They have a Wiki thing on May 1st and the Labor Movement that may help clear things up for us.

May Day is a Communist holiday, that's why they picked it!

"The workers revolting against Capitalist oppression", all that BS.

I should ask one of my co-workers about it, he spent ten years in a Communist Vietnam "re-education camp", where they pretended to teach him the ways of Socialism. Actually they were making him and everyone there work until they died.

Luckily for him Ronald Reagan bankrupted the Soviet Union which imploded and they let him out.
