Genetically engineered crops banned in Jackson County, Oregon in landslide victory against GMOs

(NaturalNews) A ban on the growing of all genetically engineered plants appears to be a landslide victory in Jackson County, Oregon. With 100 percent of the precincts reporting and a huge voter turnout of over 50 percent, nearly 66% of voters elected to ban all genetically engineered crops from being grown in the county.
The vote ran 39,489 to 20,432 in favor of the ban, and it sends a clear signal that the People of Jackson County, Oregon -- a largely agricultural area of the country -- absolutely do not want genetically engineered crops to be growing anywhere near them. (Click here to see county election results.)
This is on top of the recent victory in Vermont where lawmakers passed a mandatory GMO labeling law that requires foods to be honestly labeled with their GMO content. (The evil biotech industry and its Grocery Manufacturers of America front group plant to sue Vermont to keep consumers in the dark.)
"Destroy all genetically engineered plants"
This ordinance in Oregon requires everyone to "destroy" all genetically engineered plants except those grown under indoor laboratory conditions (i.e. those which are safely isolated from the wild). This will allow scientists to continue to study GMOs without risking the lives of everyone else in the process.
Click here to read the full text of the ordinance (PDF).
Why destroy all genetically engineered plants? Because as the voters have now come to recognize, genetically engineered plants pose a real danger to ecological sustainability. They contribute to genetic pollution and they run the risk of catastrophic "ecocide" -- death of the ecosystem by GMOs!
The voters are not fooled by corporate propaganda and poison pushers
Corporate propagandists are paid by biotech companies to try to convince the public that GMOs pose no safety risks whatsoever. Yet the public isn't buying their lies. No many how many "scientists" biotech buys off, the simple truth is that there is absolutely no conclusive evidence of the safety of GMOs. Not for long-term use by humans and not for long-term safety in the environment.
GMOs are a wild, runaway experiment that puts all our lives at risk. This experiment needs to be reeled in and halted before it potentially destroys us all, and that's exactly what voters in Oregon voted for this week.
It's time to halt the open-field growing of genetically engineered crops and put them back into laboratory greenhouses where they can be studied in more depth. Our planet is not your experiment, Monsanto!
Watch for more popular victories against the insanity of GMOs in the months ahead. We the People are winning this fight for safe food and the biotech industry, even with all its paid-off "scientists" and propagandists, is utterly unable to stop it.

(NaturalNews) The March Against Monsanto was unleashed today across over 350 cities and towns around the world. Everywhere across the globe, millions of people are united in taking a stand against corporate evil (Monsanto) and genetically engineered crops.
How many people across the globe marched today in favor of Monsanto? ZERO.
Nobody is in favor of Monsanto except Monsanto. The rest of the world is strongly allied against the corporate monstrosity, a corporation that threatens all life on our planet while using domineering, imperialist tactics to suppress the rights of farmers and consumers.
Maybe that's why GMOs are banned or heavily regulated in so many other countries around the world!
I personally wish to thank all the event organizers all across the globe who made this day another extraordinary success in our fight against corporate evil. I also wish to thank all those who joined in the rally and let their voices be heard!
