We allowed labels to be put on people, and in doing so, got caught up in the us/them. Rather than a debate of ideas, it became a debate of labels. That made labels more important than people or ideals and you had to act with, agree with, your labelled tribe - you just had to.

It also made it so very easy for us to be brainwashed and controlled.

No one, who is thinking, is all anything. We all, hopefully, have our own ideas. These are based initially, on what we think is best for us and ours, but for others as well, and for our country. We may disagree on how that is to be achieved, but if we all have the same goals, it can be.

If, however, your goal is to walk in lockstep with your labelled tribe, whatever that tribe, you are lost and a part of the country is lost as well.
