German school teaches non-Muslim girls how it is to wear a headscarf for a week

After a teacher’s idea for an experiment, six students from a German school wore an Islamic veil to expose discrimination.
Teacher Katrin Riekermann came up with this experiment together with her working group and implemented it in her class.
Six schoolgirls volunteered to wear the headscarves in the city centre of Lünen, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
A documentary by German broadcaster WDR shows the experiment is upsetting for the non-Muslim girls:
“Celina is going to wear a headscarf for the first time today. She doesn’t exactly feel comfortable with it. Her teacher Katrin Eckermann is also anxious.
“Six students willingly volunteered for the experiment. From the beginning they feel uncomfortable as the headscarves are placed on their heads. Suddenly, the project isn’t so easy, even though it is just a role reversal.”
A Muslim girls says the experiment is good:
“It is good, because the ones that I will put the head scarf on will now experience how it is to be on the street while wearing a one.”
According to the WDR footage, the girls were quickly ‘getting used’ to wearing the headscarf, although they said ‘it narrows them a bit’ as they walk through town.
Results are that the girls were mostly not discriminated for wearing a headscarf and looking like a Muslim. For the people of Lünen women wearing headscarves is not something problematic.

Now do an "experiment" and put our clothes on the Muslim girls for a week.

Headscarf ban in Austrian kindergartens and elementary schools to protect children against ‘sexualisation’

The Government effectively banned the headscarf by tying funding of states to the law. Now the right-wing government of the ÖVP and FPÖ want to do the same for elementary schools.
“Integration is a two way process, which has an effect on the respective target group.
“The wearing of the headscarf until reaching the age of religious maturity can lead to early and especially sex based segregation, which is not reconcilable with the Austrian core value and social norms”, Vice Chancellor Strache told tabloid Krone.
The goal is to protect girls from early sexualisation because the headscarf is a sign of female sexual maturity according to the government statement.
The ÖVP and FPÖ want to ban all forms of head veils until the age of ten. The governing coalition invited the opposition to collectively support the bill.
The opposition signaled a willingness to discuss the issue but also voiced concerns over constitutional problems.
Strache also responded to claims of missing data on how many children actually wear a headscarf. He pointed to many reports of directly affected people especially coming from Vienna.
