Oh I envy you! I went to school with a woman who was from Alaska. It was colder in Iowa than it was in Alaska for most of the winter.....but trust me........the pay off for being there is unreal. God's country for sure. It's 31 here, no view, no clean air, no space, no wild animals,.....trade ya!

22 degrees here in Maine. It's been quite brisk. The wind has made it frigid all week. Nights have been 5 or 10 degrees. It makes me sad to think of the homeless in this weather.

My bedroom has been 52 to 55 degrees and I've taken to wearing my hat to bed! It's not a pretty sight.

We are all trying to save on our electric so anything we can do, we have to do. Blocking off levels with blankets in the doorway save one floor of heat. At least the rest of the house is 60. I miss having my woodstove going but wood got really expensive when fuel did. Tougher times are coming and my camping skills will come in very handy.

On a good note, the glass of water I take to bed keeps ice in it all night.

Worse than the cold is the ice on all my walkways. We had a melt before the freeze. Last year my plow bill was 780. The year before was 350 ...

I've had a couple of deer around all day. They wipe out all my goose food and birdfood. They LEAVE the deer pellets?

Say hi to Sarah for me!

Wet, gray and dismal at 48 Degrees F with more rain on the way here in Central California! It's too freakin' cold for this California native.
