In 1139 A.D. the Catholic Saint Malachy was said to have experienced visions during a trip to Rome. He subsequently put these visions to paper and penned a document containing 112 short phrases purporting to describe all future popes that would head the Catholic Church. Though not a part of official Catholic dogma or church teachings, this Prophecy of the Popes is well known by Vatican officials and church scholars because it has been remarkably accurate about naming the last 111 heads of one of the world’s oldest and most widespread religions.

According to researchers, theologians and evangelical scholars, the phrases Malachy scribed in his writings offer up the “nature, name, destiny or coat of arms” of every pope in succession and culminate with the naming of the 112th pope.

This morning, Pope Benedict XVI announced he would be retiring. Jokingly referred to as “God’s Rottweiler” in some circles, the German born 111th Pontiff as described in Malachy’s prophecy is called the Gloria Olivae, or ”glory of the olive,” which some supporters of the prophecy suggest is a reference to the Benedictine Order of monks from whom Benedict got his namesake. The monks are also known as the Olivetans, and are represented by an olive branch, leaving many to believe that Saint Malachy was, once again, right.

Now, according to prophecy, the 112th Pope will step up to head the Church, and he will be named Petrus Romanus, or Peter the Roman.

Whether you’re Catholic, Christian or not a religious person at all, the fact that a 900 year old prophecy is coming to a close is intriguing. And one way or the other, whether its predictions turn out to be true or not, the prophecy concludes with the next Pope.

Eerily, the prophecy describes the Catholic Church’s last Pontiff as overseeing a new era, and one that will be met with great difficulty and destruction:

“In extreme persecution the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman…”

“Who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the terrible or fearsome judge will judge his people.
    The End.”

Prophecy of the Popes – Attributed to St. Malachy circa 1139 A.D.

Within the Book of Revelation, also known as The Apocalypse of John, are references to the destruction of the City of Seven Hills (Rome) and to the many trials that will be faced by mankind ahead of the final judgement – the rapture, the rise of the anti-christ, seven years of tribulations, and the end of days.

Suffice it to say, if the prophecy is accurate, then the world will soon be engulfed in a battle between good and evil.

The idea by some Catholics that the next pope on St. Malachy’s list heralds the beginning of “great apostasy” followed by “great tribulation” sets the stage for the imminent unfolding of apocalyptic events, something many non-Catholics agree with. This will give rise to the false prophet, who according to the book of Revelation leads the world’s religious communities into embracing a political leader known as Antichrist.

Throughout history, many Catholic priests—some deceased now—have been surprisingly outspoken on what they have seen as this inevitable danger rising from within the ranks of Catholicism as a result of secret satanic “Illuminati-Masonic” influences. These priests claim secret knowledge of an multinational power elite and occult hierarchy operating behind supranatural and global political machinations. Among this secret society are sinister false Catholic infiltrators who understand that, as the Roman Catholic Church represents one-sixth of the world’s population and over half of all Christians, it is indispensable for controlling future global elements in matters of church and state and the fulfillment of a diabolical plan called “Alta Vendita,” which assumes control of the papacy and helps the False Prophet deceive the world’s faithful (including Catholics) into worshipping Antichrist.

As stated by Dr. Michael Lake on the front cover of this unprecedented report, Catholic and evangelical scholars have dreaded this moment for centuries. Unfortunately – as you will discover in the next 90 days – time for avoiding Peter the Roman just ran out.

Petrus Romanus: The Final Pope Is Here - YouTube

The prophecy begins in 1143 with the election of Pope Celestine II, who is described in Latin as “Ex caſtro Tiberis,” or “From a castle of the Tiber.” Celestine II was born in central Italy in a city that sits on the banks of the Tiber river.

Pope John Paul II is referred to as “De labore folis,” or “from the labour of the sun,” and is the only pope to have been born on the day of an eclipse and entombed on one as well.

There are scores of similar parallels between prophecy and pope, adding all the more credence to its legitimacy.

In its last prediction, though the prophecy refers to Petrus Romanus as the shepherd that will pasture his sheep, it may not necessarily mean the Pope will be on the side of the people, or even God. According to Thomas Horn, the author of Peterus Romanus: The Final Pope Is Here, the last pope is not the anti-christ, but he may well be the false prophet who ushers him in - a chilling thought for the billions of Catholics and Christians around the world:

The important fact is this. The very next Pope, following Pope Benedict the XVI who, according to a lot of news coming out of Rome right now – his days are numbered. He’s getting older, he’s getting feeble, he may retire…

The next Pope is the final one on a 900 year old prophecy.

So, imagine how historical this moment is with regard to end times bible prophecy.

By the way, the prophecy tells us that he will be the false prophet of biblical fame who will help give rise to the anti-christ.

A Look at the St. Malachy Prophecy:

    The Prophecies of St. Malachy

Whether coincidence, self fulfilling through the machinations of man, or otherworldly, Malachy’s writings have certainly held the attention of the highest levels at the Vatican for centuries, and perhaps even influenced its decisions.

Now, with Benedict the XVI stepping down, we enter its final phase, and we’ll soon learn how accurate it really is.

Pope Benedict Steps Down Fulfilling The Malachy Prophecy, Will Armageddon Follow As Predicted? (Video)

    Monday, February 11, 2013 7:47

    (Before It's News)

Pope Benedict XVI announced Monday morning that he would be stepping down as the head of the Catholic Church, making him the first Pope to step down rather than die in the position in more than 600 years. A new pope will be selected by the end of March. There will undoubtedly be much speculation about who will take over the reigns of the Catholic Church, but one thing that we can look to for some guidance about who might be the the next pope are the infamous papal prophecies of St. Malachy. St. Malachy, the first Irish saint, had a vision of the next 112 popes. We've had 111 since, and are on the verge of seeing No. 112, which Malachy says will be the final pope before the end of the world as we know it.

St. Malachy had written about the 112th pope:

"In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations, after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End."

St. Malachy prophesized that the final pope would be "Peter the Roman", which is interesting because no pope to date has chosen the name of Peter out of respect for Peter the Apostle. There has also been speculation that the final pope would be black. Even more curiously, there is a black cardinal in Ghana, Peter Turkson, who is believed to be a frontrunner and whose name has come up in previous discussions of papal appointment.

Malachy's prophecies are taken very seriously as they've been uncannily accurate to date. Will the Catholic Church get its first black pope? Will "Peter the Roman" lead us into the End Times? These questions are set to be answered by Easter, which comes this year at the end of March, when the papal conclave announces their decision.

Piux XI 1922-1939 - Fides Intrepida (fearless faith)

Pius XII 1939-1958 - Pastor Angelicus (the 1st of the Angelic Shepherds). In 1945, Pope Pius XII stated, "The world is on the verge of a frightful abyss ... Men must prepare themselves for suffering such as mankind has never seen."

John XXIII 1958-1963 - Pastor and mariner; shepherd and sailor

Paul VI 1963-1978 - Flos Florum (Flower of flowers)

John Paul I 1978 - De Medietate Lunae (Of the half moon) (born Albino Luciani, in Canale d’Ogardo, diocese of Belluno, (aka lovely moon) (John Paul I reigned for 34 days from half a moon to the next half... before he died suddenly and mysteriously.)

110th Pope - John Paul II 1978-2005 De Labore Solis (he was born during a solar eclipse May 18, 1920 and died near a partial solar eclipse on April 8, 2005; i.e., the pope of the eclipse; the labor, or eclipse, of the Sun; the true pope) - one version of St. Malachy omits De medietate Lunae (from half of the Moon). Pope John Paul II’s funeral is to be held "during" the solar eclipse on April 8th!

111th Pope? “De Gloria Olivae” From the Glory of the Olive (The Assassinated Pope-elect?)

112th Pope? The Last Pope - Petrus Romanus (Peter the Roman; the apostate pope; the anti-pope?)

"During the last persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit upon the throne, Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep amid great tribulations, and when these are passed, the City of the Seven Hills (Rome) will be utterly destroyed, and the awful Judge will then judge the people" - St. Malachy

Nobody would doubt we live in very serious times. The shadow of world war three looms over the world. Destruction and greed are everywhere. The four horseman lay waste to the earth. Israel is ever so close to occupying all of Jerusalem so they can build their third temple. I'm not a believer but I still take things like this seriously just because I would be ignorant not to. -Mort

Millions of People Will Soon Disappear

    Saturday, February 9, 2013 6:57

    (Before It's News)

This world event is referred to as the rapture of the church. It will happen suddenly as the bible says"in the twinkling of an eye". One thing is clear from scripture, and that is that the rapture WILL happen. When is debatable because the Bible does not specify that. What I am going to present here is the reason why the rapture is necessary instead of when it will happen. Personally I believe in the pre-tribulation rapture and I have scriptural reasons to believe that. But why is it necessary?

Revelation 19:14 and 1 Thessalonians 4:14 says that Jesus will return to earth with his saints. The saints are all the born again Christians who ever lived on this earth from the time of Adam and Eve to the time of the Rapture. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 tells us that at the time of the rapture, the dead in Christ shall rise first, then those believers who are still alive will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. So the rapture will include all believers that have ever lived on this earth up to the time of the rapture. After this the Great Tribulation starts and lasts for 7 years. So what are the saints going to do in heaven for those 7 years?

For those believers who think that when you die you will go to heaven and enjoy your new mansion with your own private pool and putting green in the back yard where you will live forever, think again, because the bible does not teach that. Yes, we will be caught up to heaven for 7 years, but we will also come back with Jesus when he sets up his kingdom on earth for 1000 years and reigns from Jerusalem. Therefore, we will live back here on earth for 1000 years with Christ. So what are we going to do in heaven for 7 years if we are coming back here to live?

When all the saints are raptured and meet the Lord in the air and are taken to heaven to be with the Lord, there will be people from all time periods, all races, all languages, and all cultures. Imagine if you fell asleep for 2000 years and then woke up. Things would be very different from what you remembered them being. That is what it will be like for many believers who lived many years ago. Whether we will all speak one language in heaven, or if we will speak all languages, or if we will communicate in some other way, I don't know, but there will definitely have to be a time to get oriented and organized so that all believers can come together as one body with one understanding and purpose. And THIS is what I believe the 7 years in heaven is for. It's to get us all up to speed and to train and teach us how things are going to be done on earth when we go back there.

When Jesus returns to earth with his saints, He will be entering a war zone. A place that has been totally devastated by 7 years of war, disease, famine, destruction, and riots. The bible says that if those days were not cut short no one would survive, so I wonder if we will even recognize it as the place we used to live. I have no doubt that some of those wars will be nuclear and the devastation will be horrific. This will all have to be cleaned up and made habitable again. Jesus is not going to wave a magic wand and voila it's all beautiful again. There will be a lot of work to be done.

When Jesus returns he will also judge the remaining inhabitants of the earth and separate the sheep from the goats. The sheep will enter the 1000 year Millenium to re-populate the earth. The goats won't. These sheep will be just like we are right now. They will still die when they are old, and they will still have to choose if they want to serve God or not, as will their offspring.

One of the biggest changes will be what type of business establishments will still be allowed to operate under Jesus's rulership and which won't. Bars, casino's, nightclubs, strip joints, porn sites and movies, and the like will all have to be closed down and demolished. Many new churches will have to be built. School books will have to be re-written and teach that "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth". TV shows will focus on good things and not crime, killing, gangs, war, cheating, and so on. Libraries will have to be re-vamped with many books thrown out and new ones written. We may not even use money, or maybe we will, and if we do, honest practices will be enforced. Do you see what I mean here? The bible says that Jesus will rule with "a rod of iron" because He will create a world in which righteousness reigns supreme and good deeds are recognized and encouraged. A world where everyone works for the good of everyone else. Where no one thinks of how they can benefit from something, but instead of how something can benefit everyone. It will be totally different from the life we are living right now.

There will be three types of people on the earth at that time. There will be the people like us (the sheep), there will be the resurrected saints who will have their heavenly bodies, and there will be the angels. I also think that every saint will be appointed to a new job. Maybe a town, city, village, state, or country to rule over along with many assistants to ensure that Jesus is represented everywhere in the world. (This is just my opinion.) Maybe some saints will be the school teachers that teach the children God's ways. Maybe others will help poor war ravished countries to rebuild and be prosperous. There will be a thousand things that will need to be done and THIS is the reason why we need our 7 years in heaven. While all hell is breaking loose on earth, we will be in heaven learning from Jesus how we are going to re-build the earth when we go back. Then we will be well equipped and trained in God's ways and our rewards will be our new appointments and responsibilities on earth when we return. And so we will indeed "reign with Christ". I think this is what Jesus meant in Matthew 5:5 when he said "the meek shall inherit the earth".

Won't that be awesome! Finally life will be the way God intended it to be when He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. One world, one nation under God, serving God. The life that is truly life. Where peace, love, and joy abound. I can't wait. How about you??
