3,456 Pound Great White Tracked Off Florida Beach

Scientists have tracked a massive, white shark near a Jacksonville beach, according to a Fox 35 news report. The giant shark weighs 3,456 Pounds and is 16 feet long!

Researchers from Ocearch, a non-profit organization that conducts research on sharks, tagged the shark off Cape Cod Last September and named it Mary Lee. When she left the cape, she swam down to the Carolinas and has been zig-zagging around all the way down to the coast of St. Augustine. You can view the trail of the shark's journey on Ocearch's shark tracker page here.

But this isn't the first time that great whites have been encountered off Florida's coast. Last June, a diver filmed a white off Sebastian Inlet (Below), and I have even heard stories of whites eating cobia hooked up by anglers off Cape Canaveral.
