    Connecticut Focus Campaign

    Connecticut

Mission: Prevent illegal immigrants from receiving in-state tuition rates.

Task: Call and E-mail all members of the Senate, House and the Governor.

    Message Example (craft your own)

Subject line: In-State Tuition for Illegal Immigrants

    To the Honorable Governor Rell

I'm writing / calling to ask Governor Rell to once again veto legislation that grants in-state tuition for illegal immigrants. Reduced tuition rates for international students deprives the colleges and universities of revenue for legitimate students which pay the full rate. Also, students that are unqualified to attend college will be taking limited enrollment positions away from qualified citizens and legal residents. Connecticut must discourage illegal immigration by refusing to offer benefits for illegal deeds and thereby doing what those in DC refuse to do.

    To the Honorable Representative/Senator

I'm writing / calling to ask Representative/Senator _____ to oppose legislation that grants in-state tuition for illegal immigrants. Reduced tuition rates for international students deprives the colleges and universities of revenue for legitimate students which pay the full rate. Also, students that are unqualified to attend college at the in-state rate will be taking limited enrollment positions away from qualified citizens and legal residents. Connecticut must discourage illegal immigration by refusing to offer benefits for illegal aliens and thereby doing what those in DC refuse to do.

We have already begun petitions & calls concerning, applying for the fed training of our states police forces to assist ICE. We put pressure on regarding in-state tuition, and that was vetoed, now we are working on the "sanctuary city" items, and others.

I never knew I could become such an activist and its a relentless business it seems. We are attacked at every level on this issue...

I already had sent faxes and this morning I called my senators. Had absolutely no problem reaching Dodd's offices in Washington and Wethersfield, but Liebermans office in Washington no one answered so I had to leave priority messages on voice mail. I also called and spoke with his office in Hartford.

Have sent letters and will do so again......I want to listen to Williams argument about the Civil Rights movement in the 60's to todays problems.

I always research before sending letters, as I want to present as good a case as possible. Backing up my statements with facts, not just heresay.

I love replying to the "form" letters stating their positions, though Lieberman is not quite as guilty on that account as Dodd is. He never varies in his replies, I think he just changes a word here and there. Talk about out of touch with the people.....They are worded in such ways, that it is extremely easy to point out why you disagree and here's the proof of such . Very little of his arguments stand up to scrutiny I did expect better from him, guess it no longer matters since this is basically the only job this man has ever "worked",( a term I use very loosely here) at and he considers his constituents as gnats.

    There's a new group: http://www.watchdogproject.us/

They are pushing on the illegal aliens issues here. Talk radio, petitions, etc.

Found them when I was looking at a Yale Daily News article sent from CTIC group.
