    Wisconsin Focus Campaign

    Wisconsin

Mission: Encourage the Assembly to pass AB712 and the Senate to pass the companion bill SB404 that are "relating to: making companies that hire illegal aliens ineligible for certain tax exemptions, governmental contracts, grants, and loans, granting rule-making authority, and providing penalties. (FE) 2008." Both SB404 and AB712 are before the Judiciary and Ethics Committee.

Task: Call and E-mail all members of the Assembly and Senate

    Message Example (craft your own)

Subject line: AB712 Illegal Immigration and Employment

    To the Honorable ______ ,

I'm writing / calling to ask Assemblyman ____ to please support AB712. We need the State of Wisconsin to enforce immigration laws that those in DC refuse to enforce. Please approve the bill, which will make companies that hire illegal aliens ineligible for certain tax exemptions, governmental contracts, grants, and loans, granting rule-making authority, and providing penalties". Wisconsin must take action with companies that unscrupulously hire illegal aliens, if we are to protect Americans from the negative impacts of crimes like illegal immigration and all of the associated criminal activity.

Subject line: SB404 Illegal Immigration and Employment

To the Honorable Senator _________ ,

I'm writing / calling to ask Senator _______ to please support SB404. We need the State of Wisconsin to enforce immigration laws that those in DC refuse to enforce. Wisconsin...proposed "bill that would prohibit local governments from adopting laws or guidelines that bar government employees from checking on the legal status of individuals seeking public services. It would also ban any local laws that would prohibit these employees from notifying the federal government of the presence of undocumented aliens.

"Whenever we have a unit of government implying that entering the country illegally is no big deal we undermine the enforcement efforts of our immigration laws," Grothman said."

Grothman and Rep. Roger Roth, R-Grand Chute, are seeking co-sponsors for the bill.
