Candidate Background Information
As the daughter of a veteran and bronze star recipient, I was raised to
believe that each person has a responsibility to serve. I am running for
Congress because the future of our families is too important to be left to
politicians more interested in their political futures than in serving our
needs. I am not a politician but instead a Mom on a Mission. My mission is
to end playing partisan politics with the issues and return public service
to the House of Representatives.
Experience has taught me the importance of serving others by enacting
solutions that address challenges to produce results. This is evident in my
career choices of serving at-risk children through Big Brothers/ Big Sisters
of Monmouth County or as a Client Services Representative with American
Express.
Shortly after marriage, my dedication to service was again tested with the
birth of our two children. Embarking on a new career as an at-home wife and
mother of two young boys, taught me the important skills necessary to serve
in the House of Representatives such as, balancing a budget, acting as an
unbiased mediator in resolving conflicts, resisting lobbying efforts, and
negotiating peace agreements among quarreling factions.

Short Answer
Has your campaign addressed the topic of illegal immigration in speeches,
commercials, ads, or campaign materials? What are those messages? (Please
provide sources or examples) - Yes, our campaign has focused on illegal
immigration and given many speeches on the subject. Attached to this email
are press releases, speeches and campaign literature pertaining to the
subject.
What do you feel your opponent's stance on illegal immigration or
immigration reform is or would be? - My opponent, Frank Pallone, has rallied
with illegal immigrants in Liberty State Park. He sends out his official
updates as a Congressman both Spanish and English and has said that he
supports the Senate version of "comprehensive immigration reform". He has
received a grade of D- from Better Immigration.
Have you been endorsed by or received contributions from any other
immigration reform or illegal immigration reduction groups at this time?
NO
Would you openly accept an endorsement and or contribution from ALIPAC?
YES
Please use the remainder of this space to share any further opinions on
these issues. (optional)
Of the estimated 11 -12 million illegal immigrants in the Country, an
estimated 350,000 - 425,000 reside in New Jersey. Illegal immigration has
an impact on all Americans by way of threats to Homeland security, increased
costs and taxes due to the additional strain illegal immigrants place on the
health care and school systems, and the economy impact by taking jobs at
lower than market rate, stealing jobs from willing, able, law abiding
individuals.
To address this situation we must secure our Nation's borders. We must also
provide law enforcement with greater ability to fight illegal immigration,
and we must punish those who knowingly employ illegal immigrants.
Furthermore, as a Nation we must say NO to amnesty.
With a secure border it will be easier to reform our immigration laws and
policies to provide an opportunity, with sufficient safeguards, for
foreigners to enter the United States, that those here legally do not
overstay their visas, and that there is a uniform process for those seeking
citizenship so long as those seeking citizenship assimilate into our
society.

Candidate Pledge
I, _Leigh-Ann Bellew__, hereby pledge to stand with the American public to
have the US Border secured and existing immigration laws enforced with the
intention of reducing the number of illegal aliens entering and remaining in
the US. I understand that the vast majority of Americans want the border
secured, taxpayer benefits for illegal aliens ended, local police helping to
enforce immigration laws, and employers that hire, aid, and abet illegal
aliens to be charged.
Furthermore, I will not support any trade agreement or Executive Branch
treaty that compromises our ability to enforce our existing immigration laws
and threatens US sovereignty.
I will actively oppose any attempt to remove or replace the current laws
that say illegal aliens are to be deported with a guest worker or temporary
worker program that allows illegal aliens to stay or quickly return to the
US.
Signed,

ALIPAC Endorses Leigh-Ann Bellew for Congress
October 23, 2006
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT:
William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC)
(866) 329-3999 or WilliamG@alipac.us
Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is pleased to offer our endorsement to the Leigh-Ann Bellew for Congress campaign because Leigh-Ann Bellew wants our borders secured, our existing immigration laws enforced, and illegal aliens to leave the United States of America.
"Over 80% of the voters consistently indicate they want our border secured and our existing immigration laws enforced," says William Gheen of ALIPAC. "While some lawmakers in Washington want to change our existing laws and allow illegal aliens to stay in our nation, Leigh-Ann Bellew will oppose any Guest Worker or Temporary Worker Program that would allow illegals to stay. Leigh-Ann Bellew wants illegal aliens to go back to their homes in the nations they are citizens of."
Illegal immigration has become a top issue in the 2006 campaigns. There are currently 12-22 million illegal aliens in America. Most Americans are aware that this problem has been created by the non enforcement and minimal enforcement of our existing immigration laws. According to surveys of US Border Patrol agents, illegal crossings have increased as some US lawmakers have called for amnesty disguised as a Guest Worker or Temporary Worker Program.
"It is common sense that for any law to be a deterrent, the penalties must be greater than the rewards." says William Gheen. "Illegal aliens can never reimburse us for what they have taken and therefore must return home. Can you imagine what America would be like if bank robbers only had to return a portion of the money when caught for robbing banks?"
Americans are being told by some politicians such as John McCain and Edward Kennedy that they must accept a Guest Worker Program because "We cannot deport 12 million people."
Americans do not have to deport 12 million people. Enforcement of our existing laws by fining employers, securing the border, empowering local police, and removing taxpayer benefits for illegal aliens will cause millions of illegals to leave on their own. Currently, illegal aliens are leaving the state of Georgia and parts of Pennsylvania due to local efforts to enforce the law in those areas. (See 'How To Reverse Illegal Immigration' at www.alipac.us)
Americans for Legal Immigration is a one of the largest national organizations fighting illegal immigration. ALIPAC is a multi-ethnic organization that enjoys the support of many LEGAL immigrants. Supporters are organized in all 50 states. For more information, please visit www.alipac.us
