Short Answer
Has your campaign addressed the topic of illegal immigration in speeches,
commercials, ads, or campaign materials? What are those messages? (Please provide
sources or examples)
Yes—Immigration is the number one issue on our pamphlets and Alan has addressed his
enforcement-first no-amnesty policy at http://www.schlesinger2006.com/issues.shtml .
Also, the website prominently displays a video on the right-hand side addressing the
illegal immigration issue, which ends with Alan’s support for a 700-mile fence
across the border. Alan has addressed the issue of illegal immigration in all three
debates with Ned Lamont and Joe Lieberman.
What do you feel your opponent's stance on illegal immigration or immigration reform
is or would be?
Joe Lieberman has supported “comprehensive immigration reform” in the past, and has
often been against cutting back on illegal immigration. He currently has a D- from
betterimmigration.org . Ned Lamont has outright said that we need to allow more
immigrants in to cover a so-called “work shortage”.
Have you been endorsed by or received contributions from any other immigration
reform or illegal immigration reduction groups at this time?
Alan has been endorsed by Connecticut Citizens for Immigration Control, but has not
received any donations from immigration reform groups.
Would you openly accept an endorsement and or contribution from ALIPAC?
Yes to both.
Please use the remainder of this space to share any further opinions on these
issues. (optional)
Alan has always put immigration front and center in this campaign, and is strongly
pro-enforcement and anti-amnesty. Alan believes this issue is crucial to our
homeland security and our economy, and should be treated as such.

ALIPAC Endorses Alan Schlesinger for U.S. Senate
November 02, 2006
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT:
William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC)
(866) 329-3999 or WilliamG@alipac.us
Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is pleased to offer our endorsement to the Alan Schlesinger for U.S. Senate Campaign because Alan Schlesinger wants our borders secured, our existing immigration laws enforced, and illegal aliens to leave the United States of America.
"Over 80% of the voters consistently indicate they want our border secured and our existing immigration laws enforced," says William Gheen of ALIPAC. "While some lawmakers in Washington want to change our existing laws and allow illegal aliens to stay in our nation, Alan Schlesinger will oppose any Guest Worker or Temporary Worker Program that would allow illegals to stay. Alan Schlesinger wants illegal aliens to go back to their homes in the nations they are citizens of."
Illegal immigration has become a top issue in the 2006 campaigns. There are currently 12-22 million illegal aliens in America. Most Americans are aware that this problem has been created by the non enforcement and minimal enforcement of our existing immigration laws. According to surveys of U.S. Border Patrol agents, illegal crossings have increased as some US lawmakers have called for amnesty disguised as a Guest Worker or Temporary Worker Program.
"It is common sense that for any law to be a deterrent, the penalties must be greater than the rewards." says William Gheen. "Illegal aliens can never reimburse us for what they have taken and therefore must return home. Can you imagine what America would be like if bank robbers only had to return a portion of the money when caught for robbing banks?"
Americans are being told by some politicians such as John McCain and Edward Kennedy that they must accept a Guest Worker Program because "We cannot deport 12 million people."
Americans do not have to deport 12 million people. Enforcement of our existing laws by fining employers, securing the border, empowering local police, and removing taxpayer benefits for illegal aliens will cause millions of illegals to leave on their own. Currently, illegal aliens are leaving the state of Georgia and parts of Pennsylvania due to local efforts to enforce the law in those areas. (See 'How To Reverse Illegal Immigration' at www.alipac.us)
Americans for Legal Immigration is a one of the largest national organizations fighting illegal immigration. ALIPAC is a multi-ethnic organization that enjoys the support of many LEGAL immigrants. Supporters are organized in all 50 states. For more information, please visit www.alipac.us
