Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) is pleased to offer our endorsement to Congressman Paul Broun of Georgia for his outstanding support for border security and immigration enforcement accompanied by his opposition to Amnesty for illegal aliens in any form.

"Congressman Broun has consistently stood up against any form of Amnesty disguised as a new guest worker, temporary worker program, or comprehensive immigration reform," said William Gheen of ALIPAC. "The state of Georgia is a national leader in the battle for more immigration enforcement and Paul Broun has carried those principles to Washington!"

Congressman Paul Broun has also received a grade of A+ from Betterimmigration.com, which analyzes the voting records of incumbents in Washington.

"Over 80% of Georgia's legal citizens are concerned about illegal immigration and want more enforcement of our laws," said William Gheen. "Congressman Paul Broun is the clear choice, if you want enforcement instead of amnesty."

ALIPAC is one of the nation's largest grassroots organizations fighting the enforcement of our existing immigration laws and against Amnesty for illegals. The group is a multi-ethnic national organization with many supporters in Georga including many LEGAL immigrants. For more information please visit www.alipac.us

Candidates in 10th release poll results, campaign disclosure reports
By BLAKE AUED | Athens Banner-Herald | Story updated at 12:18 pm on 10/16/2008

U.S. Rep. Paul Broun holds a double-digit lead over Democratic challenger Bobby Saxon.

Which digits depends on who you ask.

The Broun campaign released a Southern Outlook poll of 533 likely voters Wednesday night that showed the Athens Republican leading Saxon 62 percent to 30 percent.

An internal poll of 300 people released by the Saxon campaign, though, shows Broun holding just a 10-point lead, 41 percent to 31 percent with 25 percent undecided.

Broun also holds a substantial fundraising edge over Saxon.

Broun raised $268,527 and spent $426,986 in July, August and September, according to reports he filed Wednesday night with the Federal Election Commission. Most of his contributions went toward buying advertising in the runup to the July 15 Republican primary and paying staff. He transferred a half-dozen employees from his congressional office to his campaign after overspending his taxpayer-funded office budget in the first half of the year.

Saxon raised $26,538 in the third quarter and spent $14,949. He had $26, 892 on hand at the end of September, putting him on roughly equal footing with Broun, who had $36,863 on hand.

However, Broun has raised about $75,000 so far in October, his finance director Cullen Gossett said.
