District Information

Please give a brief description of your district: The district ranges from Jacksonville to Orlando Fl and many consider this one of the most heavily gerrymandered Districts In the nation that was drawn primarily to allow the continued election/re-election of a minority to Congress. This District has seen changing Demographics since 2002 when the sitting Congresswoman (Corrine Brown) last had opposition. MANY of the Democrats in this District, over 58,000, can be classified as "Reagan Democrats" as in these rural counties, they vote almost exclusively Republican in Federal elections. In spite of what appears to be overwhelming odds, THIS election is winnable for a Republican this election ONLY. The angst of the voters, the lack of attention by this Congresswoman, and many other factors make this a winnable election for Republicans.

Percentage of Democrat, Republican, and Unaffiliated Voters: Democrat-63.5% Republican 19.3%- NPA 17.2%

NOTE: ONLY 41% of Democrats turned out in the '06 mid-term election! Rep. and NPA's are far better voters in this District when the incumbent has
opposition and has NOT had since 2002.

PLEDGE

If elected or re-elected to the US Congress, I will oppose any form of Amnesty or path to citizenship for illegal aliens, including Comprehensive Immigration Reform which would turn millions of illegal immigrants into voters thus destroying future borders of America. I will use the full power of my office, including impeachment if necessary, to insure the Executive Branch secures America's border immediately and begins to adequately enforce the existing immigration and border laws of the United States, which were enacted by Congress at the behest of America's citizenry. I understand that the failure of the Executive Branch to secure our borders and enforce existing immigration laws is depriving all Americans of a Republican form of government and depriving our states of protection from invasion as mandated by the US Constitution. I intend to use the power of Congress to immediately remedy this problem that is costing many Americans their jobs, wages, taxpayer resources, property, security, and sometimes their very lives.

So help me God,

Michael F. "Mike" Yost
