Candidate Background Information:
Tom was born in Boulder, Colorado in 1969. His father served in Vietnam while his mother cared for Tom and his three older sisters. Tom graduated high school in Colorado Springs and attended college at the Colorado School of Mines, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in December 1991 as the outstanding senior in Petroleum Engineering.

To pay for college, Tom worked at fast food restaurants, grocery stores, and a major food product distributor, prior to engineering intern positions with major independent natural gas companies. Tom was both a United Commercial Food Workers Union member and a member of the Teamster's Union.

Tom moved to Farmington, New Mexico immediately following graduation, commencing employment with Meridian Oil as an engineer. Tom embarked upon an entrepreneurial career after five years to start a consulting engineering practice, Mullins Energy, Inc., and an independent oil and gas producing company, Synergy Operating, LLC. Tom is a registered professional engineer in the state of New Mexico and has been actively involved in the Independent Petroleum Association of New Mexico (IPANM) for five years and is a past President.

Tom has been active in the Farmington community for more than eighteen years, including membership and board involvement with the Farmington Kiwanis Club, the American Petroleum Institute, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Four Corners Oil and Gas Conference, and Sacred Heart Catholic School among other organizations.

Tom is a Christian, a Conservative, and an American who cares deeply for his fellow man. Tom has two young daughters, ages 11 and 7. His children, like himself, are excited about this campaign. Tom designed and acted as general contractor during the construction of his home in Farmington, which incorporates passive solar design. Tom has long been interested in reading and discussing current events, but has only recently become politically active. He became interested in the political process while helping with a friend's state legislative campaign, and after that volunteered in the 2008 election and currently assists grass roots organizations.

Whether you are Democrat, Independent, or Republican, Tom respectfully asks for your vote, your prayers, and your support in his campaign. Tom is running for United States House of Representatives, New Mexico Congressional District 3.

PLEDGE

If elected or re-elected to the US Congress, I will oppose any form of Amnesty or path to citizenship for illegal aliens, including Comprehensive Immigration Reform which would turn millions of illegal immigrants into voters thus destroying future borders of America. I will use the full power of my office, including impeachment if necessary, to insure the Executive Branch secures America's border immediately and begins to adequately enforce the existing immigration and border laws of the United States, which were enacted by Congress at the behest of America's citizenry. I understand that the failure of the Executive Branch to secure our borders and enforce existing immigration laws is depriving all Americans of a Republican form of government and depriving our states of protection from invasion as mandated by the US Constitution. I intend to use the power of Congress to immediately remedy this problem that is costing many Americans their jobs, wages, taxpayer resources, property, security, and sometimes their very lives.

So help me God,
