First, illegal immigrants do not get food stamps or welfare, and they never should. Second, I doubt that underpass in U.S. is better then it is anywhere else. Finally, if the law is reasonable, it is likely strictly enforced as it goes along with the basic economic interest of most parties involved. If it would be simple to come and work here legally, people of honest intention would follow the law. People of criminal intentions, would not. There would be no more excuses that people of honest intentions got caught in the system.
The idea that illegals don't get foodstamps or welfare is a total crock of horsecrap. You know that, and you just refuse to acknowledge it.

    nothin...

What ???? no mesages?? man I was all excited about someone actually writing to me and nothing ....Ah well ..Anyway ... As our particular case has merit ..and as we were trying to do things legally we have a couple of senators and one congresswoman helpong us. They realised after reviewing our situation that we are actually being grouped in with all the people who are screwing the system. ICE is now just putting everyone in the same box .. The thing to remember here is that If someone has tried to rectify a wrong. and they are persecuted for it. Its not just the person they are punishing. My wife and step kids are now suffering a lot becuase of this. So we filter through the long lists of players and we start to realise that there are people who just didnt know the law. Simple. No excuse. Hence the Houston Ploice stepped in and tried to help us also. They cant understand the vast changes, how are we meant to. Brian

New Pilgrim Family?????? Oh come on!!
I realize that I am getting in at the end of this debacle, but really. I don't think many of our "new pilgrims" have the sand to even consider themselves such. After all, when the Pilgrims came to this country there weren't any food stamps, or welfare, or free medical, and no drug trade to finance them. No ready made , nice clean infrastructure for them to mob into.
It must be hard on people to "live in the shadows" knowing they are nothing better than a thief. If you haven't been invited to the party, good manners dictate you should go home. Just my opinion!

I am married to an American girl who i love and adore. Once realising our mistake, I turned myself into the authorities and was refused re-entry. We now have the legal side happening. I am telling people this becasue unlike some who take it for granted, we want to do this correctly. I am not in the US for anything but my wife and her kids. I can earn better money here in Australia, and give her some of the things we were stuggling with over there. America is where her kids are so thats where we want to be.. near them,, have them in our lives and watch them grow and prosper. I wont ask my wife to come here because i will not take her away from the kids. Now haviung stated this, Its important for all of the people to know and understand that yeah America is a place where you can have a better life in some aspects. You cant just decide... hey this is cool ..lets stay here... its bullshit and cant be happening. My family is being ripped apart because we realised our mistake and were honest about it. You illegals dont care. If you had any integrity and believed honestly in the american or for that matter the Australian law and its rights you would go back to your country and if it means that much to you ... you would apply to do it properly. If you fail at being allowed to re enter you tried ... but at the end of the day. you did the right thing ahnd can stand proud. if not .. you are just another illegal that is making it hard for the ones who are trying to do it honestly. Brian
I'm so sad to hear that your family has been ripped apart just because you made a small mistake, mistakes which we will all make once or more in our lives. I don't advocate people breaking laws, but I can understand when families have been ripped apart by insensible immigration laws, that they sneak the border. Is there any chance that you and your wife will ever be united again ?

Australians can go to the US on a visa waiver program - no visa required. You have every right to be united with your family, I thinks it's against humanity that your family has been ripped apart by making a mistake. you have every right to be with your family and you have every right to do so ant means neccesary if you know what I mean. Or perhaps you can get an immigration judge help you as they're generally more human than the imigration laws.

I'm like you, not an US citizen, I just to happen to be here for a while. My Uncle and aunt, where I stay, came to US illegally 25 years ago, but it was very easy for my aunt to find a job as she has skills that hardly any American has? But they were not being suspected to be illegal as they are, like me, from a Scandinavian country.

But if what ever happened to me what happened to you, I know I've the right to get into the US from either canada or mexico. But I've no plans for staying in the US 4ever.

Stay strong and I wish you the best.
