There is an enormous number of Americans who have been harmed by the criminals who pass through the nation's open borders. For that reason, this section can only provide a symbolic tribute to the many unnamed victims who have been killed, raped, robbed, crippled and otherwise personally violated.

It is particularly shocking that even in post-911 America, the government still refuses to protect the people in the most basic ways from the world's terrorists and criminals who enter at will to do as they please. The borders remain a sieve while the human carnage from crime perpetrated from illegal aliens continues to mount. In another stunner of INS malfeasance, the agency often cannot even manage to deport dangerous criminal aliens when they reach the ends of their prison terms.

• The murder of Kris Eggle (see the separate page of collected articles), a park ranger in the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument in southern Arizona on August 9, 2002, was little noted by the media, although the press has paid considerable attention to the deaths of illegal aliens on the border. By contrast, Ranger Eggle was shot down by Mexican drug dealers who were using Organ Pipe as a route for their smuggling. Only 28 when he was murdered, Eggle was a valedictorian and an Eagle Scout who joined the National Park Service because he loved the outdoors. (Organ Pipe is considered to be the most dangerous of the national park system: 200,000 illegal aliens and 700,000 pounds of drugs were intercepted at the park in 2001.) The Eggle family is determined that his death will not be forgotten by working for real border control, including a Washington press conference with Tom Tancredo in the fall of 2002. The Eggles have a family website, www.kriseggle.org, to inform interested parties about what they are doing.

As a stowaway, he was required by law to be immediately deported back to his home country. Instead, the INS overroad the Border Patrol's designation and released John Lee Malvo upon the unsuspecting American public. Had immigration law been followed by the INS, there would have been no two-man hit team and it is likely that there would have been no devastating series of murders. As columnist Michelle Malkin has observed, the INS releases dangerous alien criminals all the time.

• David Nadel was a familiar community activist in Berkeley, California, and owned the popular Ashkenaz dance club that featured eclectic music, such as zydeco, cajun, klezmer and the blues. In 1996, he was murdered in the club by an apparent Mexican illegal alien, Juan Rivera Perez, whom Nadel had earlier ejected for harassing other patrons. Perez was in Ashkenaz as part of an English as a Second Language program graduation party. Police believe Perez escaped to Mexico, which is famously unhelpful in extraditing violent criminals. Despite the outcry from law enforcement, victims and the press, our government does not insist on normal compliance in law enforcement from Mexican authorities.

• In another case of justice denied, the murderer of Phoenix high school student Tanee Natividad merely crossed the border into Mexico to escape law enforcement. A local television station was able to track down the murderer in a bar just a few miles across the border without much effort. Max LaMadrid has no reason to hide because the Mexican government actually helps violent criminals escape American justice. According to Arizona Attorney General Janet Napolitano, action by the Mexican supreme court making it more difficult to extradite criminals has "created an incentive for people to flee into Mexico as a safe harbor." At one time, Mexico would not extradite criminals who might be subject to the death penalty; the Mexican court recently extended this "protection" to any Mexican who might receive a life sentence, thereby giving a free pass to rapists, kidnappers and child molesters. In fact, the investigating reporter found 100 cases of violent criminals from the Phoenix area escaping into Mexico in just the last few years. On August 26, police announced that they had arrested one suspect of two, an illegal alien from Mexico known as Leocardio Lopez, but whose actual name is Audiel Molasco-Tello. The Dilks had a 15-year-old son, Dustin, but he was not at home at the time of the killing. Now he's an orphan because illegal aliens murdered his parents.

It is sickening that a man who has been elected to the high honor of President refuses to represent the citizens/taxpayers of America and refuses to protect our invaded borders in a time of terrorist threats.

He will continue to allow the importation of third world poverty, ignorance, disease and dependence despite what Americans want.

He considers himself a monarch. He is not my president. He dishonors America's White House. I hope there are enough patriots in Congress who will fight him and defeat every one of his dangerous proposals. We are witnessing our country being changed forever against our will.

What a contradiction of statements! Your whole post is nothing but the usual cliches and drivel we hear from the open border group. Illegal immigration is illegal, and is breaking the laws of this country. Legal immigration is following the laws. How can it be one in the same? I find it ironic that you're even admitting it is illegal activity and defending it like it is no big deal, and anyone that disagrees is the hater or racist.

This web site is not about hate but about people who are brazenly violating every law they feel like without regard for anyone but themselves. It is not about only Mexicans but anyone from any country entering the United States illegally. We are not against legal immigration of people that want to be American citizens and put this country first. We do not want people who break the laws and are more loyal to their former countries. Also we are not obligated and cannot take care or every single person that wants to come here. We are already feeling the strain and burden from too much immigration in too short a period of time. It's already having a negative effect on the citizens of the country. Finally when the rule of law breaks down in a country it weakens it, and does not make it strong. Mexico is a shining example of that and we do not want it in our country.

I came here from another country too... legally! My family came from Japan when I was a child, and when we got here we didn't demand that everything be provided for us, in our home language. We never called ourselves Japanese or Japanese-Americans, we were Americans plain and simple. And when we were asked where we were from, we said "we're Americans" who came from Japan. We never expected that we be taught in Japanese, or asked for Japanese textbooks to teach us Japanese history, Why? Becasue we chose to live in America. We never used fake documents to get work, and especially not welfare or free medical care. We never drove without licenses, without insurance, or would ever have driven off or run away on foot if we were ever in an accident. We obeyed all laws and totally dedicated ourselves to American ideals and traditions, because we chose to be Americans. You on the other hand show your true allegiance is to Mexico, well then why don't you live there? Oh yeah, maybe it's because "your people" have turned it into a third world toilet.

I always wondered why is it that my original homeland, Japan, which has virtually no natural resources, no agricultural land, no minerals, no oil reserves, hardly any resources at all other than fishing and the ingenuity and hard work of its people, is a world power that can care for its citizens. But Mexico, a country with vast resources, everything from huge oil reserves, cattle lands, rich farmlands, vast fisheries, two beautiful coasts with wonderful tourist destinations, can't care for its people, and actually DEMANDS that other countries provide for the existence and welfare of its people. It's not like Mexico has nothing to work with, Mexico has the ninth largest GDP in the world, why does it have to send its people here to mooch off of others? And you are proud to be from a heritage like this? You are proud to be from a country that abuses its people, keeps them illiterate and in abject poverty, all the while squandering vast natural resources, and expects other country's taxpayers to provide for your housing, your education, your healthcare, your very way of life? Their "choice" is to collectively demand their home countries "assist" their citizens. I've "assisted" those who keep sucking everything they can from the US long enough. Gee, I was born right here in the USA. And so were my parents, my grandparents, and THEIR grandparents. One of them was even an Iroquois so there is no telling how manty generations of her family were born here before there ever was a USA.

The public needs to know FIVE critical elements of this story. 1. Authorities have charged Gilberto Cruz Hernandez with 8 counts of rape and home invasion. 2. He is an illegal alien that has been deported twice. 3. He has a fresh and valid NC License and 11 tickets 4. He has a 44k job 5. He has a 123k home mortgage backed by the FHA!

Is this one of the jobs Americans won't do for 44k a year? That is twice the average NC Salary! Is this what President Bush has in mind for these "temporary workers?" How 'temporary' are they with FHA backed mortgages? Why are mortgages being given to twice deported illegal aliens with no credit history?

It's not their fault that their countries are financially strained! If the USA can not assist their neighbors, then of course people have to live here illegally, because it's not THEIR choice, they can't provide for their families in their countries! You give yourself away when you claim to be "Mexican-American." If you truly loved your adoptive country - the USA - then, you woud consider yourself an American with no other titles or labels attached. Enough said!

Another comment to you jen_martinez13, I know where my ancesters came from. Do you know where your's came from. If you are from Mexico as claimed I bet some of your ancestors came from Spain. Isn't that a Europeon Country that once held most of the world hostage with invasions and pillages, i.e, raping and robbing the world's poor left and right, as well as religious wars, persecution and torture?

One Of 'Most Wanted' Nabbed In Mexico

MEXICO CITY, Feb. 28, 2006
(AP) The U.S. Ambassador to Mexico on Monday credited "close cooperation" between Mexican and U.S. law enforcement agencies for the weekend arrest of a fugitive on the FBI's 10 most wanted list in connection with the killing of his girlfriend's 4-year-old son.

Genaro Espinosa Dorantes, 35, was taken into custody Saturday in the border city of Tijuana, according to the FBI, although Mexico's Attorney General's Office could not immediately confirm the report of his arrest.

"This weekend, thanks to the cooperation of law enforcement officials in Mexico and the United States, one of the FBI's 10 Most Wanted Fugitives is now off of the streets," U.S. Ambassador Tony Garza said in a statement.

Garza noted that Espinosa Dorantes, whose alleged crime was featured on the U.S. television program America's Most Wanted, is charged with burning, beating and torturing to death Luis Osvaldo Cisneros, his girlfriend's four-year-old son. The boy's body was found dumped in a park in Nashville, Tennessee on Feb. 23, 2003.

The child's mother, Martha Cano Patlan, agreed to cooperate with police and was taken into custody Feb. 20 in Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico.

The child's autopsy showed he suffered from battered child syndrome, was scalded, suffered infected burns from the waist down and had internal head injuries.

Garza said that two Mexican police agencies — the Federal Investigative Agency and the Baja California state Judicial Police, as well as the FBI, were involved in the arrest.

"The United States, and especially the people of Tennessee, are very grateful for the efforts of these law enforcement officers," Garza said.

Garza noted that the extradition process can be lengthy, even after the United States presents all the necessary paperwork in the case, something it has 60 days to do.

"Although the extradition process often takes more than six months to a year to complete, Espinosa Dorantes is now in a federal prison in Mexico City and will remain there until he is returned to the United States," Garza said.

Espinosa Dorantes faces first-degree murder charges in the boy's death. While Mexico's Supreme Court recently ruled the country can extradite suspects who face life imprisonment abroad, Mexico still refuses to extradite those who face a possible death penalty.

In such cases, U.S. prosecutors usually provide written assurance they will not seek the death penalty, in order to win the extradition.

Nashville police said on Monday the two suspects have been in Mexico since the investigation started in 2003, and that Espinosa Dorantes was apparently smuggling illegal immigrants into Tennessee at the time of the murder.
