Ron Paul Bests Obama in Latest Poll

Shows Paul beating President in head-to-head matchup

Shows Paul beating President in head-to-head matchup

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – In a new Harris Poll, 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul beats President Obama 51 percent to 49 percent in a general election race.
“This is yet another poll that clearly proves how competitive Ron Paul is against the sitting President,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton. “Dr. Paul is making strides, affirming that the American people are looking for conviction instead of the typical status quo rhetoric being offered by establishment candidates.”
These results come just a few weeks after a Reuters/Ipsos survey showed Ron Paul polling within striking distance of President Obama among registered voters. Furthermore, a late August Rasmussen poll showed him within 1 percent of President Obama in a head-to-head matchup.

Another recent Gallup survey, conducted August 17-18, shows Paul only 2 percentage points behind Obama in a general election match-up. In a similar head-to-head survey from last year done by Rasmussen, Dr. Paul drew a statistical dead heat with the President. And earlier this year in a survey by CNN, he did the best out of the other Republicans put up against Obama in a head-to-head poll.

Ron Paul Handily Sells Out New York Citys Largest Nightclub

Nearly 1,900 grassroots activists, luminaries celebrate

LAKE JACKSON, Texas, Sep 27, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul drew a spectacular 1,862 greater New York City metropolitan area voters for a fundraising rally last night.

"Ron Paul continues to inspire a movement that no other campaign can duplicate in its conviction and broadness," said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

"The success of this entirely-grassroots event in the heart of New York City demonstrates that supporters are motivated by Dr. Paul's winning message of Constitutionally-limited government, sound money and a traditional Republican noninterventionist foreign policy," said Mr. Benton.

The event was hosted by the Ron Paul NYC Liberty HQ, an independent grassroots organization. Luminaries included Jack Hunter, Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign Blogger, Radio Host and Columnist for The American Conservative; Peter Schiff, CEO of Euro Pacific Capital; the Hon. Dan Halloran, New York City Councilman (R-19); Murray Sabrin, Former U.S. Senate candidate in New Jersey; and singer-songwriter Jordan Page.

Ron Paul Rocks New York City

Ron Pauls Monday appearance on The Daily Show proved once again that Jon Stewart is a fair interviewer with journalistic integrity something the comedian regularly displays far more often than many conventional reporters. Ive always admired

Stewart even when I disagree with him because, generally, he is intellectually serious, asking substantive questions and berating Right and Left accordingly. Stewarts conversations with Paul last night both on camera and backstage reflected this same temperament, and he was a heck of a nice guy to boot.

When the Congressman arrived at Webster Hall after his Daily Show interview, the citys largest nightclub was sold out as 1,862 admirers chanted Ron Pauls name throughout the night. It was an honor to emcee the event, and speakers Murray Sabrin, Karen Kwiatkowski, Dan Halloran, Peter Schiff and musician Jordan Page kept the crowd entertained until the main event.

And let us discuss the main event. Ive heard Ron Paul speak many times, and even the Congressman himself has wondered why so many continue to show up to hear him deliver the same message time and again. But deep down he knows why. We all do.

    Its the message.

In a body politic typically defined by bipartisan buffoonery, Pauls honesty and genuineness shine through. This registers with countless Americans who are tired of being lied to. Integrity counts. This is similar to my view of self-described liberal Jon Stewart, who I can appreciate for his consistent straightforwardness, even though Im a conservative.

But Pauls message itself: Limited government, sound money, a more prudent foreign policy the Founding Fathers old ideas about good government are fresh and new to a generation stuck with a glaringly bad one. More Americans than ever are realizing that the unsustainable situation we endure today, of debt, deficits and all the rest, is due precisely to our rejection of constitutional principles. Lessons not learned, the Democrats continue to promise a better socialism, and too many Republicans continue to offer little more than a slightly lesser version of the Democrats agenda.

But Ron Paul promises a better individualism, more freedom, more liberty, and, in a word hope.

This hope for a better future, a more American America even, continues to inspire. As Paul often says, it is more about the message than the man, but this doesnt mean that throngs of Americans cant enthusiastically appreciate the messenger.

And last night in New York City, 1,862 people did.

In GOP Race, Romney, Perry, Paul Are the Money Men

    Tuesday, 27 Sep 2011 05:18 PM

WASHINGTON - Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Ron Paul have banked millions, but the rest of the Republican presidential hopefuls are struggling or broke four months before the first nominating contests take place.

Ahead of a critical fundraising deadline Friday, the GOP contenders are courting donors in Texas, Georgia and New York in last-minute attempts to pick up final dollars. The push comes before they have to file a three-month summary of their finances.

Romney's campaign says he could raise as much as $18 million. Perry donors claim he could hit $10 million. Paul's campaign asked supporters to celebrate the Texas congressman's Aug. 20 birthday with a donation — and they gave him $1.6 million just that day.

The rest of the field, though, lags far behind, putting their candidacies in question.

Poll: Ron Paul v Obama a dead heat in Fla.

Public Policy Polling, a Democratic-leaning polling firm, shows Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, and former Gov. Mitt Romney, R-Mass., trailing President Obama by a mere one point in their latest poll of Florida voters. Obama has a 56 percent disapproval rating in the swing state.

PPP shows Paul trailing Obama 45-44 in a hypothetical general election match-up, while Romney lags Obama by the same margin, 46-45. Gov. Rick Perry, R-Texas, has a 7 point deficit on the president, 50-43 - likely because 63% of voters polled disagree with his characterization of Social Security as a Ponzi scheme.

That said, PPP made a point of noting that Perry's deficit to Obama recalls Dewey's loss to President Truman, which might say as much about how PPP wants Republican voters to see Perry as it does about Perry's chances in this election.
