Allegations that forged signatures may have put Barack Obama's name on the 2008 Democratic primary ballot in Indiana have prompted new proposals to prevent possible election fraud in the current race for the White House.
St. Joseph County Prosecutor Mike Dvorak, in South Bend, is investigating allegations that numerous names and signatures that put Obama and Hillary Clinton on the state’s presidential primary ballot in 2008 were fakes. Those allegations have led to accusations that Obama may not have collected the number of signatures he legally needed to have his name on the primary ballot.
Election Fraud Investigation of 2008 Presidential Primary
Was Obama in Indiana primary illegally?
"Coming off of ACORN activities right into this, what is going to happen in 2012 when everything is at stake?" asked Eric Holcomb, chairman of the Indiana Republican Party.
"They seemed to have known about and, in fact, potentially perfected the art of forging signatures to get on ballots. What we now have learned is that getting out the vote equates to: 'How many votes do you need?"
"This is definitely out of the ordinary," State Sen. John Broden, chairman of the St. Joseph County Democratic Party, said of the questionable signatures. "My reaction was surprise. I have never been aware of a problem of this sort."
Broden told Fox News that he is considering proposing changes in the way petitions are collected and verified to prevent any possible wrongdoing in next year's election.
"We need to institute some checks and controls," he said. "It is critical that voters have the utmost faith in our system."
Broden pointed out, for example, that petitions currently can be left out on tables for people to sign without any oversight. He also says that people who collect signatures do not legally have to note that they gathered the petitions, or even say that they believe the signatures are real.

"Under existing Indiana law, the person who gathers the signatures does not have to sign anything or indicate how they gathered the signatures ... the statue does not actually require a check of the signatures," Broden said
He said this creates an obvious loophole, and he thinks there should be an audit process to confirm that the petition signatures are genuine.
The petitions in question were certified by the St. Joseph County Voter Registration Board and were apparently signed off by both the Democratic and Republican Board members. The board is now reviewing its procedures regarding the processing of presidential petitions.

The alleged forgeries have raised the question of whether the Obama campaign actually filed the number of legal signatures, 500 from each congressional district, required to get on Indiana's primary ballot. Obama qualified in the 2nd Congressional District with 534 signatures, and Clinton had 704. But an estimated 150 signatures between both petitions may have been forged, according to reports, leaving open the possibility that, in Obama's case, the number of legal signatures he needed to put his name on the ballot fell short.
"He cheated," Holcomb said bluntly, charging that Obama "wouldn't have qualified to be on the ballot" if the alleged election fraud had been caught in time.
The Obama signatures were never challenged.
Obama lost to Clinton in the Indiana primary, but Holcomb said he believes his campaigning had an effect on his victory in the state in the general election.
"He came here 48 times, spent millions competing against Hillary Clinton to try and win the state in the primary. President Obama ultimately won Indiana by less than 1 percent, but without all that investment leading up to it, had he not been on that ballot in the primary, I don't think he would have won the state."
When asked if Obama might not have qualified for the ballot, Broden refused to speculate.
"That probably would have been an issue that may have had to have been decided by the legal process," Broden said. "Certainly, the statute requires that you have 500 signatures from registered voters throughout the congressional district."
The scandal led to the resignation in October of longtime St. Joseph County Democratic Chairman Butch Morgan. His lawyer, Shaw Friedman, told Fox News that Morgan stepped aside because of party pressure, that Morgan had nothing to do with the alleged fraud and that he does not know who may have committed it.
The chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party, Dan Parker, announced his resignation Monday after serving for seven years. His spokesman, Benjamin Ray, told Fox News that the election fraud allegations had no bearing on Parker’s decision.
Prosecutor Dvorak, a Democrat, has said that he "will continue to investigate this matter with the Indiana State Police and, where warranted, filed the appropriate criminal charges or present to a grand jury for indictment, all allegations of criminal conduct."

The Colorado Model & the Left's Strategem for Turning Red States to Blue
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” Sun Tzu
Although it’s being deployed in several states like Florida, Georgia, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania and others, there are still many who have never heard of the Colorado Model. What’s worse, despite all the Left’s bemoaning of the “vast right wing conspiracy,” Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, or whatever enemy they can dream up, there is still nothing like the Colorado Model on the Right.

In sum, the Colorado Model is one of the Left’s most effective stratagems that was “built” to turn “red states” into “blue states” over a very short period of time (with the exception, perhaps, of the 2010 election cycle). When combined with the tactics of Saul Alinsky and his disciples, the Colorado Model is akin to a Soviet platoon armed with AK-47s mowing down a militia armed with slingshots.
According to a 2008 expose in the Weekly Standard, the Left, in 2004 and 2006 “routed Republicans, capturing the governorship, both houses of the state legislature, a U.S. Senate seat, and two U.S. House seats.
Conceived by four rich liberals, the Colorado Model is a fairly simple strategy:
Eric O’Keefe, chairman of the conservative Sam Adams Alliance in Chicago, says there are seven “capacities” that are required to drive a successful political strategy and keep it on offense: [1] the capacity to generate intellectual ammunition, [2] to pursue investigations, [3] to mobilize for elections, [4] to fight media bias, [5] to pursue strategic litigation, [6] to train new leaders, and [7] to sustain a presence in the new media. Colorado liberals have now created institutions that possess all seven capacities.By working together, they generate political noise and attract press coverage. Explains Caldara, “Build an echo chamber and the media laps it up.”
Unfortunately, the Right still doesn’t seem to embrace or, more importantly, understand the Colorado Model. What’s worse, because the Colorado Model requires cooperation, it is unlikely the Right will ever be successful in creating a model similar to that which the Left is deploying across the country.
Unlike Barack Obama’s OFA, which coordinates with the institutional Left, the Moveon.orgs of the world, hundreds of 527s, think tanks, unions, and the like, the Right largely consists of groups who work disparately, in disagreement with, and, often, openly fighting with one another. On the Right, we have the Keystone Cops facing the Red Army on the Left.
As opposed to disarray on the Right, the Left is largely unified in their vision, their messaging, and their tactics. As such, the Colorado Model is a prime example of the Left putting their ideas into action and, in so doing, turning America from a country of individuals into a country of collectivists.
    Again, from 2008:
The Democratic surge in Colorado reflects the national trend, but it involves a great deal more. There’s something unique going on in Colorado that, if copied in other states, has the potential to produce sweeping Democratic gains nationwide. That something is the “Colorado Model,” and it’s certain to be a major topic of discussion when Democrats convene in Denver in the last week of August for their national convention.
While the Colorado Model isn’t a secret, it hasn’t drawn much national attention either. Democrats, for now anyway, seem wary of touting it. One reason for their reticence is that it depends partly on wealthy liberals’ spending tons of money not only on “independent expenditures” to attack Republican office-seekers but also to create a vast infrastructure of liberal organizations that produces an anti-Republican, anti-conservative echo chamber in politics and the media.
Colorado is where this model is being tested and refined. And Republicans, even more than Democrats, say that it’s working impressively. (For Republicans, it offers an excuse for their tailspin.) Jon Caldara, president of the Independence Institute, a conservative think tank based in Denver, says Republicans around the country should be alarmed by the success of the Colorado Model. “Watch out,” he says, “it’s coming to a state near you.”
On the Right, after nearly three years of being engaged in the battle to save America from tax and spend collectivists, there is still a large knowledge vacuum in the nature of the battle, the groups and strategies involved, as well as the tactics used. America is nearing the end of a century-old ideological war waged by Marxists of varying degree—an ideological war that will determine the future of America. Until such time as the Right understands that fact and begins to work together, any “victories” at the ballot box will be fleeting and, in the long run, futile.

Battle Over Voter ID Laws Heats Up in the States

by Dan on DECEMBER 29, 2011 in NEWS UPDATE
    By Jim Angle
A simple question divides the two parties on the process of this election — should voters have to show a picture ID to cast a ballot?
Republicans say requiring photo identification at the polls is just a matter of common sense. But Democrats warn the move could disenfranchise voters.
“I think this is an effort to diminish minority and poor people’s involvement in the electoral policies and politics,” said Dick Harpootlian, chairman of the South CarolinaDemocratic Party.
But David Norcross, president of the Republican National Lawyers Association, noted that a photo ID is required to enter any federal building and most office buildings, among other things. “You need it to get welfare, you need it to get on an airplane, take the SAT, buy liquor, buy cigarettes. It’s sort of ubiquitous,” he said. “And it’s crazy to exclude voting from the list of things you need it for.”

Growing immigrant population increasingly influential in elections
    Bob Wilson
    Spokane Immigration Examiner
    January 3, 2012

Whether you are a republican or a democrat, and whether the election is for the President or a state representative, the immigrant populations’ influence on the election outcome is increasing with each passing year.

The numbers for the last ten years spotlight this rising influence. Each year on average another one million persons receive status as a Lawfully Admitted Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) while another 650,000 people are naturalized and, if eighteen, eligible to vote.

    Just the Facts…

According to the U.S. Census bureau’s latest numbers 38,517,000 people in the United States were born in another country. That is approximately 12.5 percent of the total population of the United States estimated at 307 million people.

Washington State mirrors that percentage with 12.1 percent of its residents being foreign born. Spokane County, the largest county in Eastern Washington with just over 417,000 residents, only has 4.8 percent foreign born residents. Other Eastern Washington Counties such as Yakima, Grant and Franklin have a much higher percentage of foreign born residents: 17.2 percent, 16.8 percent and 25.4 percent respectively.[1]

    Lawfully Admitted Permanent Residents

The Department of Homeland Security estimates as of 2010 there are 12,630,000 Lawfully Admitted Permanent Residents(LPRs) in the United States. Of these 3.3 million originate from Mexico or 26 percent of the total. The next highest leading source countries were the Philippines and China at .6 Million each and India at .5 Million.[2]

Each year between 2001 and 2010 with the exception of 2003 and 2004, the United States granted over one million more people status as Lawfully Admitted Permanent Residents!

Lawfully Admitted Permanent Residents are not allowed to vote in most elections. But of these twelve million residents, more than eight million are eligible to naturalize to become US Citizens!

    Naturalized U.S. Citizens

Between 2001 and 2010 more than 6.5 million people were naturalized or about 650,000 per year.[3] Naturalizations each year ranged from a low of just over 462,000 in 2003 to a high of over one million in 2008. Of this number, approximately one third originates from “North America” which includes Canada, Mexico and Central America.

Mexico has the highest number of citizens naturalized each year. Canada contributes less than two percent to this number meaning that over 98 percent are from Mexico and Central America.

    Illegal Immigrants

The Department of Homeland Security estimates there are 10.8 million unauthorized residents(illegal aliens) within the United States in 2010 down from a high of approximately 11.8 million illegals in 2007![4] According to this same report 6.6 million or 62 percent originate from Mexico. Most believe this is an underestimate with as many as 20 million people currently in the U.S. illegally.

With amnesty ever regurgitated, the influence of the 10 to 20 million illegal immigrants who will eventually be eligible to vote, increases the substantial influence that the immigrant population of the United States wields.

Caucus Vote Counter Says Romney Mistakenly Given 20 Votes

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Caucus night was chaotic in many places, with hundreds of voters, candidates showing up and the throngs of media who followed. The world's eyes were on Iowa. But in the quiet town of Moulton, Appanoose County, a caucus of 53 people may just blow up the results.
Edward True, 28, of Moulton, said he helped count the votes and jotted the results down on a piece of paper to post to his ******** page. He said when he checked to make sure the Republican Party of Iowa got the count right, he said he was shocked to find they hadn't.
"When Mitt Romney won Iowa by eight votes and I've got a 20-vote discrepancy here, that right there says Rick Santorum won Iowa," True said. "Not Mitt Romney."
True said at his 53-person caucus at the Garrett Memorial Library, Romney received two votes. According to the Iowa Republican Party's website, True's precinct cast 22 votes for Romney.
"This is huge," True said. "It essentially changes who won."
A spokeswoman with the Iowa Republican Party said True is not a precinct captain and he's not a county chairperson so he has no business talking about election results. She also said the party would not be giving interviews about possible discrepancies until the caucus vote is certified.
KCCI political analyst Dennis Goldford said even if the caucus results are wrong, it's not the end of the world.
This will make Iowa look a little foolish in the eyes of the rest of the country, which already questions the seriousness of the caucuses," Goldford said. But in terms of Santorum's results here, the Caucuses have made him a player in presidential politics and if he should nudge ahead of Gov. Romney for the final certified result that's really not going to make any significant difference at this point."
True -- who said he's a Ron Paul supporter -- hopes it was a simple mistake.
"I imagine it's a good possibility that somebody instead of hitting 2 might have hit 22 by accident," True said. "I hope so."
But he said he won't stop talking about it until the state -- by his count -- gets the numbers right.
"Numbers that I personally witnessed being counted and assisted in counting and am certain are right," he said.
Iowa Republican Party Chairman Matt Strawn said late Thursday that the party headquarters spoke with Appanoose County Republican officials and they do not have any reason to believe the final, certified results of the county will change the outcome of Tuesday's vote.
Reached a short time later, True said he is absolutely certain his numbers are correct and he stands by his statement. True said he confirmed his numbers with his precinct captain and his county party chairman.
KCCI left a message for the Appanoose Republican party chairman on Thursday afternoon. The call has yet to be returned.
True reiterated Thursday night that he is 100-percent certain that his figures from that night were correct. He said he has checked with his precinct chairman and the GOP county chairman and they confirmed his numbers.
KCCI has not had a chance to confirm his statement with those county party officials.

BREAKING: James O’Keefe Catches Dead People Voting in New Hampshire – Could Oregon Be Next?

Posted on January 11, 2012 by daylightdisinfectant

Dateline January 11, 2011, Portland OR: BREAKING NEWS A breaking video from conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe and his organization, Project Veritas shows a potential voter getting ballots from voter registration folks in the names of dead people. According to The Daily Caller which broke the story:

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Video footage provided exclusively to The Daily Caller shows election workers in New Hampshire giving out ballots in the names of dead voters at multiple voting precincts during the state’s primary election on Tuesday.

The bombshell video is the work of conservative filmmaker James O’Keefe and his organization, Project Veritas.

Voters in the Granite State are not required to present identification to vote. O’Keefe’s investigators were able to obtain ballots under the names of dead voters at polling locations Tuesday by simply asking for them, he said.

“Live free or die,” an election worker told one of the investigators in the video. “This is New Hampshire. No ID needed.”

James O'Keefe III with Hannah Giles who worked with him on the Acorn Story.

O’Keefe is world famous for taking down Acorn.. Acorn is the voter registration fraud organization responsible for getting President Obama elected . O’Keefe has apparently turned his attention to the Granite State. Can Oregon be far behind? Hmmm. On May 19, 2011 Citizen Journalist Daylightdisinfectant published a video exposing the fact that Multnomah County Officials were retaining unused ballots overnight in apparent violation of election laws. (Note that the actual breaking of the law has not been confirmed, and that my understanding is the law has been subsequently changed.) Nevertheless, with the potential of fraud for a mail in ballot system such as Oregon’s certainly has gotten it’s share of attention.

And further:In 2010, Chris Dudley fought a tough campaign, narrowly losing the gubernatorial race to John Kitzhaber. With such a razor thin margin, ballot integrity was more important than in any year since Oregon adopted the vote by mail system. Reviewing the results of all the hard work of our election observers, there’s a good chance a recount would have reversed the election results. That’s right – if it weren’t for completely compromised ballot security, WE COULD HAVE A REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR IN OREGON.
The Multnomah County Republicans will be sponsoring keynote speaker John Fund, who will be coming out to highlight the weekend of the GOP debate here in Oregon. Fund, a Wall Street Journal contributor, lierally wrote the book on voter fraud. His book ”Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy” details the widespread seriousness of the problem. The description on Amazon reads:
John Fund explores the real divide the country faces with the looming election. Through wary thoughts on voting integrity, he shows how eletions can be decided by the votes of dead people, illegal felon voters, and absentee voters that simply don’t exist. If nothing is done to address the growing cynicism about vote counting, rest assured that another close presidential election that descends into bitter partisan wrangling is just around the corner.

With razor thin magins, in important races such as the one which jammed Kitz into office, could Oregon be the next state to drawn national media attention on widespread voter fraud? Stay tuned.

Voter fraud 'a normal political tactic' in upstate NY city

    By Eric Shawn
    Published January 17, 2012

Michael LoPorto arrived at the Rensselaer County Courthouse in Troy, N.Y. on Tuesday for his trial, which accuses him of being part of a “massive” voter fraud scheme.
The former Democratic city councilman and popular local restaurant owner appeared jaunty and relaxed as he answered a series of questions from Fox News -- despite facing felony allegations that could send him to prison for seven years.

    "Did you do anything wrong?"
    "No."
"Did you forge any absentee ballots?"
    "No, I did not."
"Did you steal an election, or try to steal one?"
"Again, you asked me that before, I told you no!"
For a year now, LoPorto has steadfastly maintained his innocence, along with current Rensselaer County Democratic Elections Commissioner Edward McDonough, who refused to comment on the case Tuesday. They are the first indicted officials to be tried in a widespread investigation that has implicated eight Democrats, including county and city elected officials and party operatives. Four defendants have already pleaded guilty to a variety of charges, and what has already unfolded exposes just how easy it could be for political insiders to illegally manipulate the electoral system.
Voters told Fox News they never filled out absentee ballot applications for the 2009 Working Families Party primary, and were later stunned to learn the applications were, in fact, turned in to the Board of Elections, with ballots cast in their names. Democratic candidates routinely try to secure the Working Families electoral line to obtain more votes in the general election. The party was associated with the now-defunct community group ACORN.
"Jackals prey upon the weakest member of the herd. That's what happened here," LoPorto's attorney Michael Feit said of the guilty pleas in which former officials admitted forging ballot applications and submitting them as legitimate votes.
Feit concedes "there is no question" that someone tried to steal the election. "It is awful, it's despicable, it's terrible," he added.
But he insists his client was not a part of what happened, noting neither LoPorto's DNA nor fingerprints were found on any of the allegedly faked applications. Forgery charges were dropped against LoPorto before the trial began, leaving 29 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
“There is no proof, in my view, that will show ... that he knew that what he possessed was a forged instrument," said Feit, referring to the allegedly faked absentee ballot applications. "Michael LoPorto is not 'a good 'ol boy.' He’s not been a politician all his life. He doesn’t rely on a political job to support himself and his family. He, in fact, got the most votes in this election. He didn't need to rig any election."
McDonough’s attorney, Brian Premo, has said in court papers that his client “asserted his innocence” and has called the proceedings “a wrongful scapegoat investigation and prosecution.” McDonough faces 74 counts of forgery and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
Two veteran Democratic political operatives in Troy said voter fraud is an accepted way of winning elections, and faking absentee ballots was commonplace.
Anthony DeFiglio, a Democratic Committeeman who pleaded guilty to falsifying business records, told state police investigators that such fraud is actually "an ongoing scheme and it occurs on both sides of the aisle. The people who are targeted live in low-income housing and there is a sense that they are a lot less likely to ask any questions... What appears as a huge conspiracy to nonpolitical persons is really a normal political tactic."
Anthony Renna, another longtime Democratic operative and party committeeman, admitted to forging an absentee ballot application. He said the process of handing in forged ballots and fake votes ensures that "ballots are voted correctly."
"I knew that the actual voters had not voted the ballots or signed the envelopes, but that did not concern me. I am not the ballot police," Renna said in a statement to police. "I have been present when 'ballots were voted correctly' by party operatives. Voted correctly is a term used for a forged application or ballot."
According to transcripts, Renna said, “I have been asked if I ever discuss forging ballots/applications with anyone and whether any ballots/applications were ever forged in front of me. The answer is no, because if two people know a secret, it is one too many. There is a saying in politics, 'I can't rob a bank with you.' This saying refers to someone who can't be trusted."
DeFiglio, through his family, declined an opportunity to comment to Fox News. Renna also declined to comment.
"It shakes the confidence of the voters when they see something like this happened," said former Troy Mayor Harry Tutunjian, who recently left office and is now a Republican member of the county legislature. "We want to encourage people to get out and vote and express their democracy. But if they see their right to vote being taken away by others, they are going to be hesitant and think that their vote isn't worth anything,"
Special Prosecutor Trey Smith obtained indictments against a slew of public officials, including former City Council President Clem Campana, City Clerk William McInerney, and two city councilmen besides LoPorto, John Brown and Gary Galuski. Campana and Galuski have pleaded not guilty.
Brown, who pleaded guilty to possession of a forged instrument, could go to jail for six months. LoPorto, who ran for re-election last November as the Working Families Party candidate, was defeated.
McDonough remains at the Board of Elections.
"Vigilance on our level as elected officials in the city of Troy, and the county and even state level, can make sure that things like this don’t happen in the future," said Tutunjian, who hopes “the trial's beginning will help put a resolution to this ugly chapter in Troy's history."
As for LoPorto, he had a simple message for reporters as he stood in the courthouse: “I hope I get vindicated.”
Meredith Orban and Tamara Gitt contributed to this report. If you suspect voter or election fraud where you live, tell us: Voterfraud@Foxnews.com
