You heard it here FIRST! NC's Proposition 200
Friends:
Over the last few days, I have been alluding to a big announcement. Well, here is the first part of it.
Senator Hugh Webster, a state Senator from North Carolina, has introduced a bill that is a more polished version of Arizona's public initiative that passed last year... Proposition 200.
This bill would require proof of legal citizenship to register to vote the first time, get a license, and to receive any state benefits or welfare that are not mandated by the Federal governments. This change would not cut anyone off from emergency medical care in North Carolina. We are not the kind of people that would demand payment in advance for emergency treatment like they do to Americans visiting Mexico.
North Carolina has experienced on of the most rapid increases in illegal immigration of any state in America. We now have 300-500 thousand illegal aliens or about 1 out of every 20 people. This is why our state budget has been in shambles the last few years although most legislators are not aware of this.
We are working on a coalition with other groups to help get this bill passed. ALIPAC and NC Listen and 9/11 FSA have agreed to enjoin the effort and our proposal is being sent to FAIR to ask them to work with us and assist the effort. Each of these groups have been pushing for license security reform in NC over the last year.
The bill is Senate Bill 976 and it is title "Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act." The only chance this bill has of passing will be with a large amount of public support and lobbying by activists and concerned citizens. This bill could save the state of North Carolina from a fiscal future like that of California.
You can read the bill here.

Please spread the word about this legislation as we await the Associated Press's version of the story shortly.
North Carolina does not have a public ballot initiative like CA and AZ. If we did, our citizens would be fighting to get this on the ballot ASAP. If it made it to the ballot it would pass with large margins!
Please spread the word and let the nation know that North Carolina now has its legislative version of AZ Prop. 200 Senator Webster will hold a press conference on this bill next week.
Kind Regards,
William Gheen
President, ALIPAC
N.C. Driver's Liscenses for Illegals
I live in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and we do not grant the* PRIVILAGE *of driving to Non-U.S.Citizens in this state!
We see suspected ILLEGAL ALIENS in this state behind the wheel of vehicles with NORTH CAROLINA plates all the time!
If (I) were injured in an accident by one of those ILLEGAL ALIENS with a N.Carolina liscense you can be SURE that "THE STATE of NORTH CAROLINA" would be party to a BIG, FAT LAWSUIT by me!

popeye1250,
WELCOME TO ALIPAC!! Illegals driving at all is a sore issue for me as my parents were both seriously injured in 1982 when they were hit head-on in broad daylight by some illegals towing a car with a rope, no less .. drunk too. Mom and Dad never got a penny .. of course, they (the illegals) were uninsured! And IIRC, fled the scene.
So I guess you drive a wide path around those illegals with NC plates, huh? I would too! Ever notice how poor their driving skills are???
Again, welcome!

According to the ever knowledgeable liberals, giving illegals drivers licenses will all of a sudden make them better drivers. Because we all know that once you reward illegal behavior then the illegal behavior will stop.
Crackdown on illegal aliens
In NJ there has been a 6 point ID system in effect to obain a drivers license. Social security ID is verified as are legal immigrant ID cards. Foreign nationals with a US work visa are issued a drivers license which expires with the work visa. This policy began just a few years ago. Also, most motor vehicle offices have local police officers stationed there permanently. I believe it is a state homeland security policy.
Congress passed a law a couple of years ago which requires agencies to verify social security numbers of medicaid applicants. Ilegals I believe are not eligible for medicaid.
The illegal aliens in NJ use charity care which is a state to hopital reimbursement program. Hospitals receive a percentage of actual costs. In recent years the amount has skyrocketed from the low to high hundred millions. The reason is that in addition to emergency care (mandated by fed law), continuous care is provided.
Illegals all over this state...estimate 450,000. Construction fund for new schools and renovations has run dry. Cities loaded with illegals and they are penetrating the suburbs. Illegal housing gone wild.Homes made into boarding houses. Few crackdowns occurring. Massive ordinance and code violations.
Many NJ citizens have only temporary part time or low paying jobs since foreigners have arrived in 90's. Citizens aged 40 or 50 have few job opportunties since corporations prefer low paid foreign nationals. Property taxes sky high... $6,000 to $10,000 per year to fund schools, county, and municipality.
Congressman Lautenberg did publicly issue a warning to employment agencies to make sure hires are legal. Have not heard of or read anything about enforcement on the state or federal level of employment document verification. E-verify used by a small fraction of employers. Some use outsourced businesses to verify new hires.
ICE did conduct raids here from Sept 06 to Mar 07 to capture those ordered deported and other illegals found in the action.
NJ attorney general recently ordered law enforcement to verify social security cards of all foreigners arrested for DUI or felonies. This only happened due to the execution style murder of 3 citizen college students this year by an illegal alien(s).
Illegals here from latin american countries (Mexico, Brazil, Guatemala) and India, Pakistan and Red China.
hope you win your battle in NC.
