Americans for Legal Immigration endorses Mo Brooks

Tuesday, August 8, 2017, the conservative group Americans for Legal Immigration announced its endorsement of Congressman Mo Brooks (R-Huntsville) for United States Senate.
Congressman Brooks is an outspoken proponent of building President Trump’s border wall and strictly enforcing America’s immigration laws.
The President of ALIPAC, William Gheen said in a statement, “It is vital to the effort to save America from this socialist backed illegal immigration overthrow of our elections and republic that we elect a very strong voice that supports our existing immigration laws instead of amnesty. Mo Brooks clearly has the strongest record against illegal immigration.”
President Gheen said, “We have supported Senator Sessions because he was often a lone voice of reason in the US Senate standing against the Gang of Eight Amnesty legislation that betrayed American workers and taxpayers.”
Congressman Brooks said, “America has an historic opportunity to finally put an end to illegal immigration and secure America’s southern border. As my #1 voting record with NumbersUSA reflects, I fight for strict enforcement of America’s immigration laws and oppose amnesty for illegal aliens at every turn.”
Rep. Brooks continued, “In the Senate, I will work tirelessly with border security groups like Americans for Legal Immigration to fight open-borders special interests that profit from importing cheap foreign labor that suppresses wages of and take jobs from American workers. With American families struggling to make ends meet, America’s immigration policies must put American workers first.”
New York City billionaire and popular reality star Donald J. Trump adopted a staunch anti-illegal immigration agenda, largely written by US Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) and Sessions’ top aide Stephen Miller, and used that agenda to propel himself to the Presidency. Brooks has been a key Sessions’ ally in the House to defeat more moderate comprehensive immigration reform proposals including one that actually passed the Senate over Sessions objections, the infamous Gang of Eight plan supported by Senators John McCain (R-Arizona), Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), and Marco Rubio (R-Florida).
President Trump appointed Sessions to be US Attorney General. Then Alabama Governor Robert Bentley (R) appointed Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange (R) to fill the vacancy.
On August 15, the voters will vote for whom they want to fill the remaining four years of Sessions term.
Nine Republicans: Luther Strange, Roy Moore, Mo Brooks, James Beretta, Trip Pittman, Randy Brinson, Bryan Peeples, Mary Maxwell, and Joseph Breault are running for the seat vacated when Jeff Sessions became US Attorney General. The winner of the Republican Primary will face the winner of the Democratic Primary in the Special General Election.
The Democratic Primary candidates are Will Boyd, Vann Caldwell, Jason Fisher, Michael Hansen, Doug Jones, Robert Kennedy, Jr., and Charles Nana.
