A pro-immigration enforcement advocate says some Republicans are attempting to fool the public over a DACA bill.
U.S. senators Rick Lankford of Oklahoma, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, and Orin Hatch of Utah have introduced the Solution for Undocumented Children through Careers Employment Education and Defending our Nation, or SUCCEED Act.
It is being touted by the sponsors as a fair, multi-step process for certain illegal aliens brought to the United States as children to qualify for Conditional Permanent Resident status by requiring them to earn their status once they become adults by employment, being a student, or serving in the military.
The bill also stipulates that these individuals cannot be eligible for Lawful Permanent Status for ten years and citizenship five years after that.
"No matter what the bills says," warns William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration, "it probably won't take 10 to 15 years for 20 million illegals to become voters when many of them are already voting, even though it's felony and no one is stopping them."
It's ludicrous to believe that this amnesty will be limited to so-called Dreamers, adds Gheen, who suspects that Congress is using sympathy toward this now-grown children to move for full amnesty for all illegal aliens.
