An immigration reform political action committee has made an endorsement in a Mississippi Senate race.
Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC) is endorsing Republican U.S. Senate candidate Chris McDaniel in Mississippi because he has made fighting illegal immigration a central issue of his campaign.
According to ALIPAC President William Gheen, McDaniel has "a really strong record against illegal immigration as a state senator, supporting bills that would require e-verify by employers to stop illegal immigrants from getting jobs, legislation that would prevent illegal immigrants from collecting welfare benefits, which 83 percent of Americans agree with State Senator Chris McDaniel on that, and a crackdown on sanctuary cities, which we know cost American jobs and lives."

And McDaniel has completed ALIPAC's 2018 federal candidate survey, "where he has promised to oppose DACA and any form of amnesty for illegal immigrants," Gheen reports. "We really need a strong voice in the U.S. Senate against these expensive amnesty bills that the D.C. insider establishment are constantly trying to ramrod onto the American public," he continues.
President Trump has endorsed McDaniel's Republican opponent, Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith. Democrat Mike Espy is also on the-three way ballot. If no one receives 50 percent of the vote, there will be a runoff between the top two vote getters.
