An immigration enforcement activist is skeptical about President Donald Trump's threat to completely shut down the southern border in response to the current crisis there.
The Border Patrol was compelled to use tear gas as an estimated 1,000 migrants tried to storm across the Mexican border on Sunday. The incident, which started in the Mexican border city of Tijuana, compelled the Mexican government to beef up its own security and tell the Central American migrants they couldn't walk toward the border area.
In response, Trump stated he's prepared to "close the border permanently" if necessary to ensure America's sovereignty. William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, isn't convinced the chief executive would actually do that.

"This is a hostile invasion of people – and you hear Trump say this a lot: that they need to come in the right way," says Gheen. "No, these people don't need to come in at all .... It's an invasion and it needs to be stopped; and the border should have been shut down in Trump's first week in office. He threatens, but we'll see what he actually does."
Gheen argues that Article 4 of the U.S. Constitution needs to be invoked. "It gives the president broad powers, including [using] the military to protect all states from invasion," he explains. "It's not an option he has; it's a requirement, it's in his oath. He swore an oath to protect all of our states from invasion – and that's still not happening."
According to the ALIPAC leader, there's a big difference between what Trump threatens to do and what he actually does – and Americans, he says, need to acknowledge that.
