Republicans in Congress need to read an eye-opening report describing the billion-dollar cost of welcoming so-called Dreamers, according to an immigration watchdog.
According to the Congressional Budget Office, it will cost taxpayers almost $26 billion over the next decade if approximately two million immigrant "Dreamers" are legally able to claim more tax, education and other benefits that they are not eligible for, at least for now.
Those newly legalized Dreamers, the CBO also found, will be able to sponsor approximately 80,000 more foreigners as part of chain migration policies.
William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, says there are two "camps" among congressional Republicans who need to review the CBO report. The first one, he says, wants to include DACA amnesty in a budget bill that will be passed just days before Christmas.

"To minimize public awareness and public backlash," Gheen warns, "against their dirty deeds done with amnesty - and the next amount of money and debt they're going to throw us into."
The second "camp" wants to hold off until the spring until the candidate filing period closes.
"Because they feel that, after filing period closes, they can see how many of their incumbents face GOP challengers," Gheen advises. "That would be a better time to pass the Dream Act amnesty."
The CBO report, released Dec. 15, estimated there are 11 to 12 million illegal aliens in the U.S. with approximately 3.25 million eligible for the Dream Act, The Washington Times reported.
