Thread: Activist Alert: Senator Jeff Sessions Needs Our Help

Friends of ALIPAC,

Yesterday, Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) contacted us asking for our participation in his press conference. Many of you will remember that Senator Sessions was the main voice of reason in the US Senate in 2007 opposing the Comprehensive Immigration Reform AMNESTY bills!

We will never forget the day he announced on C-Span, from the well of the Senate, that the capitol phone system had collapsed because so many angry Americans were calling to say NO to Amnesty!

ALIPAC helped document that the calls coming into Senate offices were ranging between 50 and 100 to one opposed to the bill.

Our activists fought hard to help defeat those bills.

Now, Senator Sessions is trying to restore some order to the Presidential campaigns and he needs your help.

Please take the following actions, which will take you about 15 minutes of time.

3. We need each of you to make 8 calls and send 8 e-mails to follow up on your calls.

Remember, it is important that you personalize each call and e-mail and choose your own distinct wording for maximum impact.

We provide you the following Good Cop / Bad Cop examples to help you craft your own message.

Good Cop Sample

"I'm calling/writing to let Presidential candidate ________ know that I approve of Senator Jeff Sessions effort to get him/her to answer a survey about illegal immigration. I know your campaign receives many surveys, but illegal immigration is a top issue for all voters. Senator Sessions has a lot of credibility with the public on this issue and answering his survey would be a wise move for your campaign. Please let me know, if _______ cares enough about letting the public know where he/she stands on this issue and will or will not be answering Senator Sessions survey."

Bad Cop Sample

"I'm calling/writing to let ________'s campaign know that I will not vote for or contribute to any candidate who does not fill out Senator Jeff Sessions's candidate survey about illegal immigration issues. The public has a right to know the answers to these questions. If you want my vote in the primaries or general election, I need to see your answers to the Senator's survey. If you do not answer the survey, I will assume that your campaign does not care enough about immigration issues. I will assume your true stance would be very unpopular. If you want my support, please fill out and return Senator Sessions's survey"
