ALIPAC Asks Congress to Reject Eric Cantor's Amnesty Allies

    For National Release

(Raleigh--NC) The national organization that played a key role in the defeat of Eric Cantor due to his support for a form of amnesty for illegal immigrants is asking Congress to abandon efforts to install Kevin McCarthy or Raul Labrador as majority leader in today's vote.

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) used a new innovative strategy to affordably warn GOP voters about Cantor's amnesty support and is now warning Republican lawmakers against electing Kevin McCarthy or Raul Labrador to the position of majority leader because both have views on immigration reform amnesty almost identical to Eric Cantor's!

"Why are Republican lawmakers being forced to choose between two amnesty supporters and why is there no candidate running yet for majority leader who represents the views of those of us who defeated Cantor?" asked William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "A large majority of Republican voters and members of Congress oppose immigration reform amnesty, which was the message of Cantor's defeat, and it will be a slap in the face to most Republicans if they install a Cantor Clone like McCarthy or Labrador as majority leader today!"

ALIPAC is asking all Americans who opposed both Eric Cantor and his support for amnesty for illegal immigrants to call Republicans in Congress in large numbers today before the vote demanding they choose a majority leader from among the more than 100 Representatives who oppose amnesty like Cantor's opponent Dave Brat, who won by a landslide despite being outspent 10 to 1!

Front runner Representative Kevin McCarthy is endorsed for majority leader by Eric Cantor and many other pro amnesty Republicans. McCarthy has in the past expressed support for giving undocumented immigrants a path to legal status which is considered to be amnesty by most GOP voters as such legal status would eventually grant illegals voting rights, access to social services, and legal access to more higher paying American jobs.

Raul Labrador, who is being falsely cast as a "Tea Party" backed challenger to McCarthy for this position, was quoted by Kate Nocero of Politico (3/20/13) saying “What I think should happen is for illegal immigrants to come out of the shadows, become legalized in some way and that status could lead in someway to legal residency and citizenship eventually but just the same as everybody else”

American citizens who do not want to see Eric Cantor replaced as majority leader by another immigration reform amnesty supporter have until this afternoon to voice their concerns to Republican members of Congress. Perhaps if enough people speak out, McCarthy and Labrador can be stopped just as Eric Cantor was.

    Glenn Beck

They didn’t learn to be humble. They learned to get even. But YOU can do something about it.

‘They didn’t learn to be humble. They learned to get even’: Glenn breaks down the race for House Majority Leader

Thursday, Jun 19, 2014 at 11:45 AM EST

On Thursday, House Republicans will vote to elect House Majority Leader Eric Cantor’s (R-VA) successor. In the wake of his historic primary loss to economics professor David Brat, Cantor will step down from the majority leader post on July 31. House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthey (R-CA) is widely considered to be the frontrunner to replace Cantor, but Congressman Raúl Labrador (R-ID) is making a late charge. On radio this morning, Glenn encouraged anyone within the sound of his voice to call the Capitol Switchboard at 202-334-3121 and make their voice heard.

    Video at the page link:

“Have I given you a number yet? 202-334-3121. It’s the Capitol Hill switchboard,” Glenn said. “They’re supposed to vote today because John Boehner doesn’t want any time to go by.”
Last week, Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX) explained Boehner chose to schedule the vote for Thursday because he sought to ensure McCarthy – who is allegedly referred to as Cantor’s “trophy wife” in Washington circles – didn’t face any real threat. The more conservative Labrador, however, threw his hat into the ring at the last minute.
“Now, there is another option that Eric Cantor… and John Boehner don’t want you to be aware of,” Glenn said. “I want you to call the switchboard and ask your [Republican] House of Representatives member… [to support] Raúl Labrador… He’s from Idaho. He is the guy to replace Eric Cantor, not the trophy wife.”
As Glenn explained, Boehner’s rush to get this vote out of the way proves GOP leadership have learned nothing from Cantor’s stunning defeat. The American people are tired of the status quo, and yet Boehner seems to be tone deaf to the sentiment.

“They didn’t learn to be humble,” Glenn said. “They learned to get even.”
When you consider the current political climate, Labrador’s background makes him a good fit for the position. The son of a single mother, Labrador grew up in Puerto Rico and practiced immigration law prior to running for office.
“We’re debating immigration reform, and Kevin McCarthy is all for the reforms. What do you say we get a guy who might be able to withstand [the fight],” Glenn asked. “What do you say? Raul would be a good guy.”
