ALIPAC Drops Endorsement of Rep. Shuster (R-PA) Due to Amnesty Support
May 7, 2018
Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) is today dropping the organization's long standing endorsement and support for Rep. Bill Shuster (R-PA) due to Shuster's new support for an illegal immigrant Amnesty bill HR 774 which calls for votes on several other Amnesty bills.
ALIPAC originally endorsed Rep. Shuster because his voting record in DC and public statements indicated support for America's existing immigration laws and opposition to Amnesty for illegals. Shuster has now announced his retirement from Congress and has switched positions to support Amnesty by backing Rep. Jeff Denham's efforts to require votes on several Amnesty bills via HR 774.
"It is disappointing to see Rep. Shuster ditch his constituents like this to try and please the Chamber of Commerce, Koch Brothers, and Goldmann Sachs lobbyists promising big rewards to lawmakers who will vote for Amnesty," said William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "Americans need to unite to replace lawmakers like Shuster and the 47 other GOP representatives co-sponsoring Denham's HR 774 in Congress. We need lawmakers who represent American citizens, not illegal aliens and the big money interests profiting off of the invasion of America they are facilitating."
Many of the Amnesty backing Republicans are already on ALIPAC's Cantor List & Kate's List to be targeted for removal from office via GOP Primary challenge.
The Forty Eight Republicans joining with the pro-Amnesty Democrats to co-sponsor Rep. Denham and *Shuster's Amnesty bill HR 774 are:
Reps Upton (MI), Gonzalez-Colon, Amodei (NV), *Barton (TX), Coffman (CO), *Valadao (CA), Brooks (IN), Donovan (NY), Love (UT), Bacon (NE), Curbelo (FL), Young (AK), Mast (FL), Knight (CA), Rouzer (NC), Katko (NY), Davis (IL), Faso (NY), David Young (IA), LaMalfa (CA), *Dent (PA), Thompson (PA), *Ros-Lehtinen (FL), Issa (CA), Fitzpatrick (PA), Trott (MI), Costello (PA), Smith (NJ), Reed (NY), Poliquin (ME), Rooney (FL), Meehan (PA), Hurd (TX), Paulsen (MN), Stefanik (NY), Simpson (ID), Collins (NY), Lance (NJ), MacArthur (NJ), Taylor (VA), Joyce (OH), King (NY), Stivers (OH), Hultgren (IL), Long (MO), *Reichert (WA), and Johnson (OH).
* Not running for reelection in 2018
ALIPAC activists are now calling these GOP lawmakers to ask them to remove their names as co-sponsors on illegal alien Amnesty bill HR 774.
