(Raleigh-NC) Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is endorsing Joe Carr for US Senate today in his bid to unseat the immigration reform amnesty supporting incumbent Senator of Tennessee, Lamar Alexander.
Joe Carr has made illegal immigration a top campaign issue and has indicated that he supports America's existing border and immigration laws instead of any form of amnesty for illegal immigrants that would undermine both permanently. (click here to see survey).
US Senator Lamar Alexander voted for and passed S. 744 in 2013 which would have changed America's existing laws to accommodate more than ten million illegal immigrants. This legislation would have allowed them to gain citizenship, more social services, taxpayer benefits, more American jobs, and voting rights as well as to compete with Americans in future elections! ALIPAC and many other groups successfully fought to stop Alexander's amnesty bill in the US House.
"Senator Lamar Alexander is one of the last Republicans facing a primary challenge this year who actually voted for and passed the kind of amnesty bill that Eric Cantor, Luis Gutierrez, and Barack Obama want as law!" said William Gheen president of ALIPAC. "We need Americans in all states helping the people of Tennessee who are fighting to throw Lamar Alexander out of office on Aug 7 just like Eric Cantor!"
Joe Carr's primary race against Lamar Alexander will be decided on Thursday August 7, 2014. The race has become very competitive and is considered a close race with momentum building behind Joe Carr.
ALIPAC played a key role in the defeat of Eric Cantor and is rapidly raising funds from supporters to fund independent expenditures for an identical statewide voter contact program in Tennessee, to help defeat Senator Alexander.
A large coalition of groups is also asking activists to converge on the Tennessee district offices of Lamar Alexander to protest on Saturday August 2, 2014 from 11am to 4pm to raise voter awareness of Alexander's vote for the immigration reform amnesty bill S. 744. (click here for more info)
