Good work digging up that info.
Do you think it unusual that the national sponsor of the 9/12 March on Washington, who most likely is providing the most funds as a national sponsor, would be soliciting funds?

I'm sure all other 30 sponsors solicit funds, as well.

I'm sure that Freedom Works would also benefit from sponsorship of the March on Washington 9/12 from increased membership
    .

The donations being solicited are going toward funding things directly related to the event according to the donations page:

    Invest in 9.12

We are on our way to making history as the largest march on Washington in favor of lower taxes, less government, and more freedom. But we need your help!

There are fundamental things we need to have like more portable bathrooms to accommodate a crowd like we are expecting and they cost $185 per piece. And every foot of barricade that we still need for the march and rally costs $45. We also want to have a giant video screen at the event that will magnify the images of speakers for the entire crowd and further reinforce our rally as a top-tier event, raising its profile in the media. Unfortunately, obtaining a screen like this is very costly. Due to restrictions at the Capitol grounds, it has to be brought in by hand in 10 sections, each one costing $1,000.

Please help us cover some of these costs so that we can have a successful event and prevent the Left from overshadowing and dismissing us!

    $45
Will help us secure a needed foot of barricade for the march and rally Total feet secured: 546
    Total feet needed: 104
    $185
Allows us to obtain another needed portable bathroom Bathrooms obtained: 72
    Bathrooms needed: 28

    FIRST screen bought!
    Sections obtained: 10

    Sections needed: 0

    $1,000
Gets us 1 of the 10 pieces of the SECOND giant video screen Sections obtained: 0
    Sections needed: 10
    Other Amount

I don't see anything unusual in that. I'll have to look around but I"m aware that others going have also solicited donations to help offset expenses.

    Great. Not unusual, then.

I should probably add that a friend of mine...... who has been involved in both the Tea Party and 912 project since the beginning...... has told me that it should be made very clear that the items obtained through donations are being used for, and by, everyone in attendance. They are NOT being obtained strictly for the use by FreedomWorks and a select few "pets" of theirs

Apparently that's one of the rumors being circulated around the internet and she's been getting a lot of calls about it.

Yes, and you have been listening to the Tea Party opposition and the mainstream media.

The groups that have firm opposition to the legal immigration cause, as well as the Tea Parties, and 9/12, have focused intently on Dick Armey.

    Almost exclusively, I might add.
Ummmm, no. I don't watch MSM. This was on FNC.
I'm late to reply since my last 9/5 message, and there are now 2 more pages of replies to read, with no time at the moment, so please forgive me if the following words have been written...

I would like to clarify: The "Tea Party Express", and "Taxed Enough Already (TEA)" are their own separate entities. Thus, in my previous communications, I have carefully referred to the "Original Tea Party movement" when referring to a movement without a leader. Please remember this in future communications.

    Thanks,
    pacificrk

Thank you, Vortex, for pointing this out. Rick Santelli was AN inspiration for the "original tea party movement".

Thanks to AZWreath for setting the record straight. Sounds like what we go through up here in Oregon for an ordinary Tea Party event.

Might it blow your mind if I mention that one of my good friends is from Freedomworks (oh, no!), and was a guest speaker (oh, no!), but we did not give his group a penny of our donations, and they donated to the cost of our event as every regular citizen did, and better (or worse) yet...I sent an overnight package to the Glenn Beck Show, from Oregon Tea Party costing $62.00, and nobody was able to reimburse me! Not Freedomworks, not 912, not the Oregon Tea Party attendees. We ended up underfunded.

Freedomworks is not a bad organization, and Dick Armey does not write their mission statement, and you will not find any type of amnesty message in their mission statement. There is too much BROAD BRUSHING out their about Freedomworks, and The912Project. Dick Armey, and the D.C.912 group don't dictate the mission statements for Freedomworks or The912Project, respectively.

Now, I'm out of breath on this subject, and until ALIPAC can pinpoint the poison and remove it from these bodies, without destroying these bodies, I'm tuning out of this conversation. Let me know when you have the conflict resolved, and not just "rumored".

    Thanks,
    pacificrk

Unfortunately, we have all the proof we need. Out of respect for our supporters that are going to DC this weekend, we are waiting to release the evidence next week.
