ALIPAC Plans Removal of NC Senator Phil Berger & Others

ALIPAC Plans Removal of NC Senator Phil Berger & Others

    For National Release

    June 15, 2012

Contact: Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC)
    (866) 703-0864 Press@alipac.us

Americans for Legal Immigration PAC is calling for the resignation of or removal from office of NC Senators Phil Berger, Tom Apodaca, Bob Rucho, and Harry Brown for their role in gutting HB 36 behind closed doors in order to protect hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrant workers in North Carolina.

These senators conspired to radically alter HB 36 which passed the House with a large margin and bipartisan support. HB 36 would have provided immediate relief for unemployed North Carolina workers by blocking big businesses from hiring illegal aliens. All state employers doing business with the state and all employers with 25 or more employees would be required to use the E-verify system, which is free, accurate, and effective, preventing illegal aliens from being hired.

"They cut this bill to shreds behind closed doors out of the view of the public and the press," said William Gheen of ALIPAC. "Polls show us that over 80% of NC voters supported this measure which these senators gutted. We intend to communicate their dirty deeds directly to Republican voters back in their districts and then call for GOP Primary challengers for each, once the new districts are drawn."

ALIPAC will only call for GOP challengers against these senators once the new districts are drawn in order to prevent Senator Bob Rucho from exploiting his power as the Redistricting Chairman to target challengers.

ALIPAC intends to call a meeting of conservative activists, GOP leaders, Tea Party leaders, and allied illegal immigration fighting groups to discuss the plans to remove these corrupt GOP senators from public office.

The formation of a new state level political action committee that can raise funds to communicate directly with voters in these districts may be organized.

"We are simply going to tell the GOP primary voters in Phil Berger's district that he and a few others just protected the jobs of tens of thousands of illegal aliens in NC," said William Gheen. "This is the truth and these corrupt senators have underestimated our ability to communicate with their constituents and the power of the backlash on this issue. It is time for us to make an example of men and women who support the interests of illegal aliens and their employers over the interests of 80% of their constituents."

In addition to their behind-the-scenes efforts to support illegal immigration, these politically targeted senators have released written statements from their offices that are lies. ALIPAC has documented these disturbing and false statements and plans to also inform the public of the lack of integrity surrounding public releases from the offices of Tom Apodaca, Phil Berger, and Bob Rucho.

Along with efforts to remove Senate President Phil Berger of Rockingham [919-733-5708], NC along with Senators Tom Apodaca of Hendersonville [919-733-5745], Bob Rucho from Charlotte [919-733-5655], and Harry Brown of Jacksonville [919-715-3034]. ALIPAC has also called for GOP challengers for illegal immigration supporters in the NC House, specifically Representatives McComas, Barnhart, and McGrady.

ALIPAC is America's third largest national organization fighting against illegal immigration and William Gheen is veteran campaign consultant that used to work for numerous NC lawmakers and candidates.

    NC State Legislature Shortcomings

I personally emailed every state legislature member indicated on yesterday's notice about the NC Senate gutting the illegal immigration bill. I received a total of two responses.

Senator Debby Clary responded with an auto-response indicating that she was too busy to read every email that comes into her office.

Senator Don East's office indicated that my email would be brought to the attention of the Senator.

These people are all on the public payroll. Why didn't I receive confirmations from the rest? Clary's email was a mirror image of emails I've received in the past from the office of US Senator Kay Hagan.

Doesn't speak well for the elected officials in NC.

    Keep the fight alive.

Thanks heddroxx and welcome to ALIPAC! Yes, it is really frustrating when you get little or no response; it's even worse when they send you outright lies! At least, they know you're a concerned citizen and that's more than they ever hear from a lot of people! Every bit helps!

Latest hogwash out of Phil Berger's office. The story has changed once again!

anyone see the obvious paradoxes here between what they are saying and what actually happened?

Thank you for your email to Sen. Berger regarding illegal immigration legislation. Sen. Berger is unequivocally opposed to illegal immigration and committed to enforcing our laws. We are working hard to ensure illegal immigrants don’t take scarce jobs away from American citizens and those in this country legally. That is why we support legislation expanding requirements for employers to use the federal E-Verify database to check workers' immigration status.

After hearing from members of our state's business and farming communities, we modified the House version of the bill (H36 Government Contractors Must Use E-Verify) to address a number of serious concerns relating to uncertainties involved with the statewide implementation of E-Verify. Before expanding this important measure to all private-sector companies, and because of the complexity of compliance for many small businesses, it's critical that we get this right not just on paper, but in practical terms.

The Senate version of the bill requires employers with state-funded construction contract to use the E-Verify system when employing more than 25 workers. We believe this is a great first step since these employers are paying their workers with state tax dollars. Also, this session the Senate has passed S205 No Benefits for Illegal Aliens and S303 Real ID Compliance. We encourage you to look at this legislation for your self on the NCGA website by clicking on the above hyperlinks.

Sen. Berger will continue to work closely with the House to expand the E-Verify program beyond the public sector in the near future. And Sen. Berger will continue to work to remove incentives for illegal immigration and restrict illegal immigrants from taking advantage of public services paid for by North Carolina taxpayers. Thank you again for emailing Sen. Berger, should you have any questions please contact our office.

Received this e-mail from Berger too.

    Main part of explanation is:

(("After hearing from members of our state's business and farming communities, ----- serious concerns relating to uncertainties involved with the statewide implementation of E-Verify----because of the complexity of compliance for many small businesses, it's critical that we get this right not just on paper, but in practical terms.

The Senate version of the bill requires employers with state-funded construction contract to use the E-Verify system when employing more than 25 workers. We believe this is a great first step since these employers are paying their workers with state tax dollars."))

My take on meaning ---political buddies in such illegal businesses pissed about costs (wages) to their business (hence their personal pocket) -- campaign contributions...gonna go bankrupt (out of business --too bad) Try to use excuse of cost of implementing E-verify as well...just too costly (which what is more costly in the long run to society is the illegal Aliens)

Also bet heard from the "Hispanic lobby"... "uncertainties involved" --documents, ID's, "complexity of compliance" --total illegal operations --no business license, paying under table -- go bankrupt. "right not just on paper, but in practical terms" -- practical terms ---sob stories about uprooting whole illegal Alien families or crops getting destroyed

Likely heard from NC Nursery Assoc. -- so many of these X-mas tree farms up here in the Blue Ridge mtns got illegals employed.

So just go after State construction due to tax dollars -- another words private companies hiring illegals in their own small business, farm means its THEIR personal money -- not public tax dollars --- meanwhile the collective crime and coost to the State IS public tax money...

BUNCH OF BULL -- The damn illegals need to start packing...
