That's pretty much what Rick Santorum and Scott Walker are saying.

Perfect message, I think Donald's first statement about illegals not being the best people in many cases is why he is leading in the polls. Anyone at this point who says Trump can't win obviously is not credible based on recent polls.
Ann Coulter doubled down last night arguing with Alan Colmes, and said we should not be bringing in people from a low level culture where child rape is common. There may be some truth to that statement, even if it is only 5% of the men who engage in such practices, that's hundreds of thousands of predators coming in or already here. Given the ease in which Mexican criminals and reprobates can cross the border, and the toughness of some of the Mexican prisons, we have a negative filter on illegal immigrants that actually brings in more predators than what reflects the average level of predator in Mexico. Trump today was saying on Michael Savage's show that it is ridiculous that anyone would be allowed to vote in this country without a full picture ID. I think Trump will be very tough on these issues. Also as he said tonight if he is nominated, he will destroy Hillary, who should be in jail for destroying her emails and her complete server. She could not stand up to him, she can barely make a public statement anymore without sounding disingenuous, she knows it, and simply avoids public debate.
Well the truth is that we can only do so much right now due to Trump's momentum. He is a juggernaut at the moment so I think the best we can do, after expending quite a bit of time and energy on his distractions, is to focus attention on the US Senate and Congressional races.

The elections are 16 months away. There will be a lot of changes in that time. I fully expect Trump initial surge to start heading in a different direction when people realize he's not offering any more than some of the other candidates (he's just being loud about it). Furthermore, he support of amnesty hasn't been fully realized yet by the masses.Quote:

When the novelty of his not being politically correct wears off, and he is pressed for answers and details as to HOW he plans to do certain things, ie: immigration, economy, trade, etc..Trump will either lose some of his luster or gain support. It remains to be seen. However, ALL candidates must learn that ANY immigration that takes place in this country MUST be for the BENEFIT of our country and our people. Illegal immigration does NOT accomplish this. At present, even LEGAL immigration does not come close to meeting that standard. Assimilation, learning the English language, and allegiance to the USA mean nothing to so many. It's truly disgusting.
Precisely. This is a nation of immigrants (unless you're a Native American) who went through the steps required to enter prepared to ASSIMILATE, not force your culture on others. I live and worked in an immigrant community- nice people. But we're not doing ourselves any good by permitting people into our communities who lack the ability or desire to assimilate into communities. As an ESL teacher I saw and heard constantly about priorities for a large segment of the school's population- kids and getting a job. English class came after that. It's backward. First one assimilates by learning the language and culture of a host nation or does so while working. THEN you have kids. One student's parents in Mexico told her she shouldn't be studying English! Our school even had a citizenship preparation program. There's no excuse. Either you're committed to your host or you're not. Then go home. I'm all for the melting pot- wouldn't a mono-cultural society be boring. However, just as we teach our kids the rules of our society so, too, must we teach and enforce adherence to the rules or we end up with a bunch of spoiled brats.
NumbersUSA already raised Trump's grade after he walked back his amnesty comments. Remember we wouldn't even be talking about immigration if it wasn't for Trump! Only 2 candidates are tougher than Trump on immigration and neither have momentum and support that Trump has! Remember Trump can still toughen his position on immigration before he gets to the White House!

They raised him from harmful to mixed (still not good enough IMO). He did not fully walk back his amnesty talk, just revised it somewhat. He is still saying the "good ones" will be offered an expedited return, which means they'll be placed in front of the immigration line and processed quickly. That is amnesty. Of course he hasn't told us yet what he considers good ones and bad ones. Well, he'll probably change that again in the next few days. There is no denying that the man has been jumping all over the place on the issue.Quote:

I agree that Santorum and Scott don't currently have the support that Trump does. However, that is subject to change because it is still early in the process. Walker seems to be holding his own and has consistently been polling in the top three. That's not a bad place to be at this early stage of the game.Quote:

I guess that could be said for every single candidate.Quote:
