Fantastic!
We need to provide opportunities for people who legally reside in Maryland, not for those do not respect our boundaries. However, we will never win this fight until we pass make it illegal for all people who strive for or hold public office to participate in any manner of fund raising. Candidates and incumbents should be confined to a set amount of time to make the case for their election/re-election on public access venues. Currently Maryland residents' interests have opportunity to be subverted by self-interest over public service

TIME TO CHUCKLE
CASA's Two Very Premature Victory Celebrations
DREAM Wave across Maryland
Students on eve of graduation start contemplating a new future made possible by DREAM.
WHAT: Dream Act Rally
WHEN: Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 3:00 pm [right in the middle of the drive]
WHERE: Wheaton High School (bus loop)
WHO: Maryland Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown, CASA de Maryland, Maryland Industrial Areas Foundation, and other community organizations.
WHAT: Dream Act Celebration
WHEN: Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 5:30 pm [right in the middle of the petition drive]
WHERE: Baltimore City Hall
WHO: CASA de Maryland, U.S. Hispanic Youth Entrepreneur Education (USHYEE), BUILD, MHC and Legislators
Back-to-back events across Maryland will celebrate passage of the Maryland DREAM Act as students start planning for a future made possible by passage of the legislation.
Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown, together with CASA de Maryland, the Maryland Industrial Areas Foundation, and many more will host a rally for DREAM Act supporters to celebrate the signing of this historic legislation that will help provide an equality of opportunity for all Marylanders. Students will be on hand to share their stories and describe how the DREAM Act will help them achieve their educational aspirations. Also expected to attend are other elected officials as well as representatives from the educational and faith communities of Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties.
Later that day, CASA de Maryland, the U.S. Hispanic Youth Entrepreneur Education, Baltimoreans United in Leadership Development, and the Mayor’s Hispanic Commission will join together with other advocates to bring the celebration home to Baltimore City Hall, a location that in some ways launched this year’s successful campaign by passing the first resolution in the state calling on legislators to support the bill.
Both events will feature supportive legislators and students whose lives are marching down a significantly different track since the promise of college attendance opened on the very last day of the Maryland General Assembly. Speaking at each even will be students impacted by the legislation.
