Poll: 64% of Americans Oppose Citizenship for Illegals in Gang of 8 Immigration Plan

Poll: 64% of Americans Oppose Citizenship for Illegals In Gang of 8 Immigration Plan

A new Los Angeles Times poll online shows 64% of Americans disapprove of the path to citizenship being crafted by the "Gang of 8" US Senators after three days of sampling opinions across America.

The 64% opposition to the Comprehensive Amnesty plans being drawn up by Obama, McCain, Graham, Flake, and Rubio is consistent with findings of Rasmussen polling during the last amnesty legislation in the 2007 debates that showed 2 to 1 (66% against 33% for) opposition to citizenship Amnesty for illegals. The new Los Angeles Times online poll is also consistent with the recent Reuters/Ipsos poll showing 53% of Americans want illegal immigrants deported instead of any path to citizenship or legal status.

This new poll, the Reuters/Ipsos poll, and the vast amount of past polling on public opinions on these matters refute the two recent polls widely broadcast by the Associated Press and Fox News that falsely claim most Americans favor Amnesty for illegals.

"Our organization is working hard today to make sure that lawmakers in DC, members of the media, and American citizens are aware that the vast majority of Americans oppose the Obama and GOP Amnesty plans," said William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "This new LA Times poll is just the latest in a long line of data showing that the recent polls circulated by Fox News and the Associated Press are lies designed to influence lawmakers and citizens in favor of Amnesty. Our political systems and entire nation suffer when such falsehoods are widely reported and evidence contradicting such propaganda is suppressed and censored."

While not a scientific poll like the others cited by ALIPAC, the new Los Angeles Times poll has received approximately 20,000 votes after three days of circulation. At the time of this press release, the poll indicates 64% or 12,710 voted "No" to the question, "Do you approve of this proposed path to citizenship?" Only 36% or 7,013 votes voted "Yes" in response to the question.

The numbers continue to move in the direction of those opposed to the Amnesty legislation as the poll reaches more Americans outside of the Los Angeles area where illegal aliens enjoy a sanctuary city backed by state government that provides them with healthcare, welfare, in-state tuition, and licenses despite massive American public opposition and critical budgetary deficits. Many Americans of all races have fled Los Angeles and Southern California in response to the illegal immigrant invasion.

Stand With Arizona's FB page really deserves a ton of credit for this, as does ALIPAC. SWA pushed this when it was 62%-38% against us, quickly moved the other way. Why doesn't NumbersUSA and FAIR get their people involved in these fights?
