NC Senator Richard Burr Votes to Allow Unsafe Mexican Trucks Containing Illegals and Drugs!

After causing an uproar in North Carolina for his indications he might support the twice failed Amnesty Bill earlier this year, US Senator Richard Burr is raising eyebrows again for voting to allow unsafe Mexican trucks laden with illegal aliens and drugs to enter the US without inspection.

Senator Richard Burr voted against the Dorgan (D-ND) Amendment, which passed the Senate last night by a vote of 74-24. Senator Byron Dorgan's amendment was voted into a transportation bill and it cancels funding for the one year pilot project to allow Mexican trucks to roll into the US without being stopped or inspected.

"While safety is a big concern with these trucks, the bigger issue is that Mexican crime syndicates will now move their human and drug smuggling operations away from the border and into the trucks", says William Gheen of ALIPAC. "We are sad to see Senator Richard Burr supporting this unpopular Open Borders agenda. Americans want more border enforcement, not less."

NC Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-NC) voted for the Dorgan amendment to stop the trucks. She also publicly worked against the Senate AMNESTY bill, which Burr signaled he might support, which led to an ALIPAC sponsored protest in his office on the day of the vote.

Local and national polls show that Senator Burr's constituents overwhelming oppose illegal immigration and anything that aids and abets their entry into the US.

"Richard Burr's vote against this amendment shows that his true loyalties are to the US Chamber of Commerce, instead of the American public," says Gheen. "We encourage Americans and North Carolinians to call him and ask him to stop supporting Open Borders and to stop supporting policies that will lead to more illegal aliens and more drugs flooding America! We hope that he will change his stance to help us override a Veto by Bush!"

Yes! By all means let's HAMMER Richard Burr for his decision to support Open Borders, Mexico, Chamber of Commerce and EVERYTHING BUT AMERICANS!

Most of you remember how he almost voted for the Senate AMNESTY bill just a few months ago.

Now, he has voted in FAVOR of Unsafe and Unchecked Mexican trucks rolling across open borders that will certainly contain drug and illegal alien shipments into the US.

While Burr voted against the Dorgan amendment, which passed last night, there is still time for you to convince Burr to change his stance. We need him to change because Bush is threatening to VETO this bill because it now cuts off funds for his one year pilot project to allow the Mexican trucks to roll into the US without inspection.

"I am very disappointed that Richard Burr voted against the Dorgan amendment in favor of unsafe and unchecked Mexican trucks rolling into the US containing more illegal aliens, cocaine, and meth!
