National Deception: Mike Huckabee and Jim Gilchrist Lie To America

    January 9, 2007

CONTACT: William Gheen, Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), press@alipac.us (866) 329-3999

Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and Minuteman Co-Founder Jim Gilchrist have been documented lying to America by the Washington Times today after false headlines ran on Tuesday proclaiming Mike Huckabee would try to remove birthright citizenship from the Constitution.

The article confirms that Huckabee lied on CNN about his campaign being contacted about Gilchrist's false statements and Gilchrist lied in a release about Huckabee's immigration stances.

Gilchrist put out a press release on Iowa's election eve, under the fake name of "Perry Emersonâ€

Nothing about ALIPAC or anything that ALIPAC has been pointing out but she talked about how Gilchrist said Huckabee told him that he was against Birthright Citizenship and would overturn it. The Washington Times bought into it and then Huckabee either flip-flopped or was never for it from the beginning. Shes said the whole thing was disturbing.

I just wanted to point out that this issue is even way more than 'he said, he said' between Huckabee and Gilchrist.

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/apps/pbc ... e=nextpage

August 21, 2007 - Huckabee makes the same claims that Gilchrist is saying that he said. So when Huckabee came out with his denial of it the other day, he is completely contradicting what he himself said just a few months ago. It's at the very end of the article. I think that is even more damning than just trying to deny what Gilchrist is saying.

Very good find, SouthofNashville. So, since at least mid-August 2007, this was Huckabee:
"I had a chance to ask another candidate, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, about his view of the issue.
" 'I would support changing that. I think there is reason to revisit that, just because a person, through sheer chance of geography, happened to be physically here at the point of birth, doesn't necessarily constitute citizenship,' he said. 'I think that's a very reasonable thing to do, to revisit that.'
What a Huckster, now he is completely not acknowledging that prior statement. This guy should be wearing a tatoo on his forehead that says "Deceiver".
