Warning to North Carolina and all ALIPAC Supporters

NCLI or North Carolinians for Legal Immigration (New group with no accomplishments hitting everyone up for money) is trying to capitalize off of our name Americans for Legal Immigration PAC or ALIPAC.

We regret that we have to inform you that a copycat group has formed in North Carolina that has boosted part of our name. It is clear that they are trying to confuse North Carolinians that have been reading about Americans for Legal Immigration PAC in the papers and hearing about us on radio and TV Broadcasts.

We are issuing this advisory because we have been contacted by some of our North Carolina supporters they have solicited for money that were confused.

THIS COPYCAT GROUP NCLI OR 'NORTH CAROLINIANS FOR LEGAL IMMIGRATION' IS NOT SUPPORTED BY OR AFFILIATED WITH ALIPAC IN ANY WAY.

NCLI is NOT ALIPAC AND IS NOT THE ORGANIZATION KNOWN ACROSS NC FOR PLAYING A KEY ROLL IN THE DEFEAT OF HB 1183 "In-state tuition for illegal aliens"

This group is sending out letters and using annoying Robotic calls to ask for money. We ask that our supporters refrain from contributing to this group as it is clear they are trying to ride on our coattails by mimicking our name. If you have given money to them due to confusion, please request a refund and contact us immediately.

We also ask that our allies in the movement disregard any calls for links or assistance you receive from NCLI.

Language on their website, which has only received a total of 850 visits, or about what ALIPAC receives each 45 minutes, indicates they support consideration of some kind of GUEST WORKER PROGRAM.

With all of the serious consequences of illegal immigration and the rapid rise in public concern out there, it is unfortunate that some young people would launch a fundraising campaign using a name that is just like Americans for Legal Immigration PAC's. By doing so, they have made it clear that immigration reform or enforcement is not their top concern. Otherwise, they would have picked a name that does not attempt to confuse people and attribute accomplishments to their new organization that they have not earned as an organization.

We apologize for this inconvenience and the fact that we even have to take time to clarify this with our supporters.

It's a shame that anyone would try to detract from our efforts by selecting a name designed to deceive or confuse people.

So many of you have given a lot of time and money to notify our fellow Americans that our organization fighting against illegal immigration. Your organization has accomplished many successes since Sept. 11, 2004.
