With President Trump retreating from his fourth threat to shutdown the government over funding for a border wall, the anti-illegal immigration watchdogs at Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC.us) are on high alert to thwart any attempts by outgoing GOP leaders in Congress to slip Amnesty provisions for illegal aliens into the budget or prison reform bills.
"They always push to pull off a sneak Amnesty move right before Christmas when they think the American public and media are least likely to notice or respond," said William Gheen, who has successfully fought to stop Amnesty during many prior lame-duck sessions. "Our activists are calling GOP leaders in Washington to make them aware we are watching closely and will fight tooth and nail against any attempt to pass Amnesty before Christmas 2018 as their paymasters the Koch brothers are demanding at this time."
ALIPAC recently broke new ground by asking activists to contact, boycott, and oppose Koch brother funded front groups such as Americans for Prosperity, Libre Initiative, Freedom Partners, and the Cato Institute.
Yesterday, activists began contacting Republican lawmakers in Congress who are endorsed by ALIPAC because of their opposition to Amnesty to put them on high alert for trickery and skullduggery from Speaker Paul Ryan who is retiring at the end of this session.
Today, ALIPAC's seasoned activists, who have stopped legislative Amnesty in DC many times since 2004, are contacting Speaker Ryan and many of the GOP lawmakers on ALIPAC's Cantor List to demand they back away from the lobbyist pressure to slip Amnesty deals into legislation in the next 48 hours before the funding deadline expires on Friday, December 21.
