I live in Arizona and called both Senator Kyl's and Senator McCain's offices. Kyl's office used words like "he is against adding any amendments to the Iraq War Funding." I explained that that sounded like just an opinion and asked if he would vote against this bill. Very noncommittal. It's one thing to be against something; it's another to actually TAKE ACTION against it. One office even stated that the president has made it very clear that he would "veto any bill that wasn't clean." Sure.
McCain's office acted like they didn't know anything about the amnesty bill or the Iraq War funding. So, their answer at all four of his offices was "no comment." I advised them that perhaps he ought to take time out from his campaigning and to be a senator for a moment. I also told him that I am an Independent voter and his decision on this vote will affect my decision in November. Perhaps I should have told them I was Hispanic? Maybe then they would have listened or kissed up to me?
Spoke to Hagel's office. NO COMMENT. The staffer said he'd pass along my comments. He took my name/address/phone #. That was a first. I told the staffer we want a NO vote on amnesty.
When I spoke to a staffer earlier he was a yes, maybe the no comment is a good sign.Quote:

Alexander, "opposed to amnesty, but how he votes will depend on the wording of the bill" I asked for a NO vote if they could not separate the bills.
BTW Some of the staffers were very interested in the bills, and did ask questions, even though they could not express their opinion. The ones who were against amnesty IE their Senator, were very happy to say so.
I think you are right some are hopeless but we still need confirmation on aome too. :lol:Quote:

Unfortunately, even if we defeat this, we will most likely have eight more years of this immigration battle on our hands since all candidates are pro-amnesty. I don't know about you, but this is very tiring.
I wonder if this means Coburn and Bunning would vote NO they are not on our list!! Have to becareful because some may feel obligated to sign because of war funding :cry:Quote:
WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today led several Senators in asking Majority Leader Harry Reid to remove more than 100 pages of immigration language from legislation that is necessary to fund troops fighting the War on Terrorism. Grassley sent the letter with Senators Jeff Sessions, David Vitter, Tom Coburn, Johnny Isakson, Saxby Chambliss, James Inhofe, John Barrasso, Elizabeth Dole and Jim Bunning.
Called both MN senators yesterday and today. Same response....not revealing their intentions on this bill. It tells me, they both plan to vote in favor of it. Neither Coleman nor Klobuchar have a good track record and both flop all over the place. Their vote is on the auction block, imo!
Very good job today folks! Excellent work, real movement for our team!

Thanks for your dedication Patriots! :D
I got thru to Hutchinson and Cornyn's offices today and yesterday. Both are undecided. Hutchinson's office did say that she is against amnesty... Yea, right. By the way, I had a dream last night that Americans found a loop hole and impeached all the senators who voted for this bill. It was a sweet dream.
I really like that DREAM! Now I would call that a sweet dream! :)Quote:

This special interest legislation is intended to protect sources of cheap labor by granting 5-year amnesty visas to 1.35 million illegal aliens plus their spouses and children. To see a summary of the amnesty portion of the Feinstein-Craig amendment, click here. THE SENATE IS SET TO BEGIN DEBATE ON THE IRAQ WAR FUNDING BILL AS EARLY AS TODAY!!!! FAIR is urging all members, activists and friends to call their Senators NOW and urge them to strip all immigration amendments from the bill.
If that weren't enough, the Senate Appropriations Committee also saddled the Iraq War Funding Bill with:
2.) An amendment authored by Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) that will dramatically expand the number of unskilled H-2B guest workers entering the U.S. each year;
3.) An amendment authored by Senators Patty Murray (D-WA) and Judd Gregg (R-NH) that will make approximately 218,000 more green cards available for multinational executives and so-called "highly skilled workers" by "recapturing" visas from as far back as 1994; and
4.) An amendment authored by Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) that grants a 5-year extension to a program that helps wealthy investors get green cards.

I went to the campaign ' contact us' section for each of the 3 candidates, who should all be voting Wed.....on the War Funding bill...
and asked that they remove the Amnesty section of the bill or to vote it down, if not removed..... I will sleep better tonight, just knowing I have sent email to everyone I know today and all week actually, I have made my phone calls, and sent Fax and email to Senators...
This list is compiled from the information you are reporting back from your calls and e-mails....please keep us updated so we can change Senators into the right category.......
or correct me if I have the wrong info. 8O Thanks!

Enzi, His Cheyene office said " His policy has always been to oppose amnesty in any form "
I called these three Senators this morning. Alexander, Casey and Bennett. I was told by all three offices that the AG/Amnesty has been stripped from the bill.
Next course of action ?
NumbersUSA Update!!
CONGRATULATIONS! You have achieved what some believed to be nearly impossible last week. The AgJOBS amnesty has been stripped from the Iraq Supplemental bill. Here's more good news: the employment-based permanent workers have been stripped from the bill too!
Unfortunately, the H-2B low-skill worker increase is still in the Iraq Supplemental so your phone calls are still needed.
Please keep phoning your Senators throughout the day and ask them to strip the H-2B increase from the Iraq Supplemental spending bill. During your call, you may also want to express how pleased you were to learn that the amnesty and employment-based permanent workers were stripped from the bill.
202-224-3121
Will do.
There is an excellent fax on the topic of HB2 visas to send your reps..I sent mine and added the updated info to tell them they need to go further in their efforts to help American workers.

NEWS FLASH!!!
Partial Victory, but High Danger Remains!
Late yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) removed the Ag Worker Amnesty from the Iraq war funding bill because he was afraid of a prolonged battle over the immigration provisions. Your thousands of phone calls convinced him that there would be a high political price for pushing through a huge Illegal Alien Amnesty.
However, Reid has left in the bill another giant increase of UNSKILLED imported seasonal guest workers, from 66,000 to over 400,000 annually by 2011! Think about what an additional 334,000 unskilled foreign workers will mean to our communities!
Still calling. Asking that the H-2B visa be stripped, otherwise vote no on Iraq Spending Bill. Have already called several. All say "No Official Comment or Statement".Quote:

Its a test to see if they can do the evil one thing at a time.
They are working to wear us down.
Do not fail the test by the evil within.
I totally agree with you ! "Any Which Way You Can" has become their motto !
