In-State Tuition for illegal aliens issue Revisited in NC!

The Raleigh based national organization, Americans for Legal Immigration PAC, is launching an effort to warn NC citizens that Democrat leaders have recently announced their intention to attempt legislation again in 2007 that would grant in-state tuition to illegal aliens.

"North Carolinians need to know where their candidates stand on this issue," says William Gheen of ALIPAC. "Three term Governor Jim Hunt has recently announced a new push for this measure. We know that in-state tuition is opposed by over 80% of North Carolinians and will be taking immediate action to warn the public."

ALIPAC is launching a statewide campaign to remind the public which lawmakers supported HB 1183 in 2005. The attempted passage and subsequent defeat of this bill was one of the biggest news stories in NC in 2005. Many candidates are running on the issue in today's elections.

"Many Republican candidates are running on this issue saying they will stop this legislation in Raleigh," says William Gheen. "Many Democrats are trying to conceal the fact they signed HB 1183. We will remind the public of who supported that bill"

HB 1183 was sponsored by many high ranking Democrats listed below. Recent news reports indicate Jim Hunt plans to bring the measure back. His organization, Center for International Understanding, recently transported a large group of NC policy makers to Mexico.

"It would be a tragedy for NC voters to go to the polls not knowing some lawmakers plan to replace NC children in the limited seats in college at taxpayer expense with illegal aliens." says Gheen. "We plan to fix that before election day."

Americans for Legal Immigration is a one of the largest national organizations fighting illegal immigration. ALIPAC helped defeat HB 1183 and helped to pass four new immigration enforcement laws in NC in 2006. ALIPAC's goal is to help voters cut through the campaign rhetoric to find out which candidates are true to the American public on this issue. I got a scholarship as an illegal, it helped me out alot, now i'm in the U.S. army as a medic, and i treat alot of soldiers thanks to the scholarship i got when illegal

The issue here is in-state tuition not scholarships.

I love the US and i'll gladly die for it, i consider this my country, which is why i volunteered to fight for it, You'de be surprised at how many races there is in the army and how well we work together, and you are right you can't be loyal to two countries, which i why i work for the one that has given me the most, I'm stationed it FT. Campbell, Air assault!
