LETS KEEP THIS GOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY CANNOT SHUT US UP and we WILL NOT ALLOW them to IGNORE US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I decided my first call was going to be to Senator Traitors (oops, I mean Senator Grahams) office.
The young lady I got on the phone, I asked her about Sen. Grahams speech to NCLR, and how he called any American who was against Comp. Immigration Reform as bigots. I asked her if this was truly what he said, she took a deep breath and said "yes". I said, "well, then he has just called me and millions of American citizens bigots, about a good 80% or more of us", I then told her that not only was I insulted by his hateful comment of American citizens who's taxes pay his salary, as well as hers, but that I live among illegal aliens in my apartment complex, have seen their hatred and disdain for Americans, our way of life, our laws and our culture, and that their children being raised here as well as the ones born here are not assimilating, they are being taught this same disdain in the home.
I stated my opposition to this legislation and was highly offended that Senator Graham felt it was ok to label Americans who want enforcement of our laws as bigots.
Called my own senators and will call some others as time permits as well as having friens and family call to.
Let's not let them reward lawbreakers, beat that fact into their traiterous heads that lawbreakers need to be punished not rewarded.
I have called every Senator on the list!
Here are a few of my results:
12 Senators are opposing the bill
8 are supporting the bill
21 are undecided or at least uncommitted.
The rest can not be reached.
BUT...if Pelosi shuts out the minority in the House, won't that allow them to push it through? I'm sorry but I don't understand how that works. I am referring to this article...thanks...I'll be on the phone calling senators whilst I await your answer.Quote:

I've sent almost 3 dozen faxes today while I am calling.
Keep it up ALL DAY TODAY, TOMORROW, THIS WEEKEND AND MONDAY!!!
Blast this to everyone.
A sleeping giant is awakening! Let them suffer our full wraith!
Update:
Stevens - no answer
Thomas - voice mail
Sanders - undecided. I put my 2 cents in.
I have been faxing all day. I've also been sending emails to the staffs of the senators advising them if their senator votes for this amnesty, they will be looking for a new job come next election. I also let them know their bosses were elected to represent US citizens, not citizens of foreign countries.
Same here...also including the questions at the beginning of this thread...also including that all they have to do is look at California to see that eventually they will be replaced, as they are voting in their own, so they will lose in the long run, but if they vote amnesty...they will lose in the short run too. I won't vote for anyone who votes for amnesty!Quote:

I told colemans office he better decide soon as time is running out and the Rep are about to destroy themselves for good!
Here is an email reply I just received from Durbin:
---------------------------------------------
Dear ____
Thank you for your message regarding immigration reform. I appreciate hearing from you.
Our nation faces a host of problems as a result of decades of inattention to our immigration policies. There is plenty of blame to go around for the breakdown of our immigration system, but it is clear that the federal government must act to fix it. I have seen the pressing economic concerns that face America's workers and taxpayers as a result of illegal immigration. Congress must act to reform our immigration system comprehensively, and we must do so in a way that is tough but fair and consistent with our moral values.
There are a number of important steps we must take as part of this reform. We must strengthen the integrity of America's borders through the use of advanced detection technology, increased manpower and resources for our Border Patrol, targeted border fencing, and the prosecution of illegal smuggling networks. We must devote significant additional resources to our immigration enforcement agencies, which are overwhelmed and underfunded. We must create an electronic verification system that will rapidly inform employers as well as enforcement agencies of whether a prospective employee is authorized to work in this country. And we must hold employers accountable when they hire unauthorized immigrants, in order to eliminate the incentive for employers to hire undocumented workers and for foreigners to migrate illegally.
Along with these strong enforcement steps, immigration reform must address the estimated 12 million undocumented immigrants who already live in the United States. Illegal immigrants have, by definition, broken our nation's immigration laws, and they must be penalized for having done so. However, as the President has said, mass deportation is not a realistic option. Immigration enforcement agencies work hard every day, prioritizing the pursuit of immigrants who are violent criminals, gang members, or security threats. These enforcement agencies must be given more resources, but even so it is simply not feasible to round up and deport the entire undocumented population.
While many categories of undocumented immigrants must be and will continue to be prioritized for deportation, American workers will benefit if we give certain immigrants the chance to earn legal status. Undocumented immigrants are currently working in many industries for lower wages than American workers have received. Frequently, these immigrants work off the books completely, with neither the employer nor the employee paying taxes. This underground economy has had a negative impact on American workers, particularly in industries such as construction, landscaping, and manufacturing. It is urgent that we protect American workers from unfair competition in these situations.
Because it is not feasible for all undocumented workers to be deported, we are faced with the choice of either leaving the remaining immigrants in the underground economy or giving them an opportunity to earn legal status. Given this choice, the better approach is to bring the remaining immigrants out of the shadows and allow those with appropriate qualifications to obtain legal status if they pay fines, pay any back taxes they owe, have no criminal record, learn English, and go to the back of the line behind legal immigration applicants. If they obtain legal status, these immigrants will be governed by wage and labor laws so that employers will no longer have an incentive to pass over American job seekers in favor of lower-earning and easily-exploited immigrants. This will help end the black market of illegal labor that hurts American workers, and the monies paid in by these immigrants will ease the burden on America's taxpayers.
I voted in favor of S. 2611, the immigration reform bill that passed the Senate in 2006. This bill offered a comprehensive framework to enhance border security and enforcement, to create an employment verification system, and to address the current undocumented population. While the bill was far from perfect, it would have represented a significant improvement over the status quo. While the bill passed the Senate, it did not pass the House and did not become law. As the 110th Congress considers new legislation, I will continue to support a comprehensive approach to immigration reform.
Numerous amendments were considered during the Senate's debate on S. 2611. My votes on these amendments were guided by two main principles. First, I am concerned about the potential impact of proposed temporary guestworker programs on the American workforce. In contrast to those immigrants who are already here and actively engaged in our workforce, guestworker programs would bring in a large future flow of immigrant workers. In many industries, the assured availability of large pools of foreign guestworkers will give employers an incentive to pass over future American job applicants in favor of foreigners willing to work for less pay and benefits. Consequently, I supported amendments to eliminate or restrict guestworker programs in the bill.
Second, I supported amendments that sought to treat in a humanitarian fashion those immigrants who achieve legal status. I voted against amendments seeking to impose continuing penalties on immigrants after they have paid their dues and obtained legalized status under the bill. I also voted for amendments that ensured legal protections for asylum applicants and other vulnerable immigrant populations. We can secure our borders, protect our workers, and still accept for humanitarian reasons those who may lose their life or freedom if we turn our backs on them.
There is no perfect solution to the problems we face as a result of our broken immigration system. I recognize that the immigration debate has created strong opinions on all sides, and I appreciate your sharing your views with me. I am working in good faith to pursue a balanced package of reforms that will protect American workers and that will be tough but enforceable, economically sensible, and morally fair. I will keep your views in mind as I continue to work toward those goals.
Sincerely,
Richard J. Durbin
United States Senator
RJD/jk
CORNYN, John (R-TX) 4-2934 ... told me that the announcement was premature and that there would most likely be amendments to this...I told her that anything short of leaving this country is amnesty!
Amnesty given: these people will vote democrat and eventually vote in their own.... all sides of this need to be looked at!
I have dramatically changed the tone of my calls now.
I am saying right away that I am an outraged Republican voter and an American citizen and today I felt betrayed by my president, my senate and my party. I am withdrawing my membership from the Republican party and I am activly going to work to unseat every senator from either party that votes for this Amnesty.
I am finished being polite. Now I am just going to be loud.
If they don't hear us now...they will hear us on election day.

Senate offices overwhelmed by your calls ... Some more things to do before Monday vote
"This morning I called Sen. Kyl's office both in Washigton, DC, and in Phoenix. In both cases a recording said, "Sen. Kyl's mailbox is full." I also called Sen. McCain's office in Washington, and received the same response. It's no wonder that senators say they are NOT receiving phone calls from their constituents. What can we do? I'd like to go to congress and knock on their door, but I know that will not work either. What a convenient escape mechanism our legislators have crafted!"
----------M. Horton
FRIENDS, IT'S TIME TO KNOCK ON SOME DOORS!
Actually, M. Horton, knocking on some Senate doors can work. And all the phone calling and faxing is helping, too. Every thing adds up. Thanks to all of you who have absolutely swamped Senate offices today. We cannot let up -- we must increase the pressure.
Whether we kill this bill in the Senate (a remote possibility) or the House (50-50 chance) depends in part on how hard we fight over these next few days. It will be much easier to win in the House, for example, if we can get at least a third of the Senate voting against this -- and especially if the majority of Republicans (25) vote NO.
Please read this email carefully and decide whether you can do more work Friday and through Monday.
Most of your Senators will be home in your state tonight through Monday afternoon. They need to encounter resistance to this amnesty at every turn. If you live near one of the offices of your state's Senators, please consider going to it tomorrow (see below).
And keep phoning.
In the Senate offices of some of the largest states, you all have shut down the phone lines so that staffers aren't able to communicate with anybody because of their decision to turn off their phones to avoid hearing from you.
But all phones will be back up by tomorrow if not later today.
"We need to let everyone know just how very, very easy it is to call their Senators and Congressmen/women. You don't even have to leave your name unless you really want to. The main thing is to call and state how you feel. They aren't going to bite you or send the FBI after you. I think that most people are just scared to call."
----------Keith McCloud
"I called my two Senators this morning requesting they reject amnesty, guest worker programme and please - enforce our laws. I was thanked for message and all they asked for was my zip code.

PHONE THE LOCAL OFFICES, TOO -- and also your U.S. Rep.
You can get all the phone numbers for each of your 3 Members of Congress by clicking on:
www.numbersusa.com/myMembers
You can get all the phone numbers for all members of Congress at:
www.numbersusa.com/congressinfo/
You will want to express your outrage about this bill and encourage a NO vote from your two Senators.
But you will also want to call the office of your U.S. Representative to put him/her on notice that you expect a NO vote when this comes to the House.
GO TO THE SENATORS' OFFICES
If you live within an hour of one of your Senators' offices, please consider going there tomorrow.
We asked for this a year ago. Some of you arrived and were the only one there and made your mark that way. Others arrived to find many other citizens there for the same reason. I would advise you to take print-outs of our Immigration Grade Cards and even a hand-made sign of "NO Amnesty" so you can identify each other.
1. I would advise that you call ahead to make sure the office is open.
2. Give your name and ask for an appointment with a staff member. If they won't give you an appointment, then just say that you will drop by anyway.
3. Find somebody else to go with you if possible.
4. When you go, take a print-out of a couple of things so you can arrive saying you want to leave something.
It is possible that you will be the only one there, in which case you will make your mark by showing them a face of a real live American citizen who is heart-sick over what is happening in the Senate. You do not need to be polished.
Take the information we have already given you and any we give you between now and then. Rely on that and just state your case to the staff (or the Senator if you get lucky).
I hope that stopping this disaster for our country will be important enough that there will be dozens of you at each of the offices tomorrow. All day.
GET TALK RADIO ON THIS
Most of you have a Talk Radio show in your area that rails against the insanity of illegal immigration.
Do all you can to focus all these shows tomorrow on turning people out to go to the Senators' offices (or signing up with NumbersUSA to send a fax if they don't live close enough to an office.)
You need to provide the office addresses to the shows.
Be sure to phone the offices to make sure they are open tomorrow.
But also make sure that these talk shows have your kind of voice calling in during the day.
This bill is an absolute outrage. Are we going to give away our country without indicating how outrageous it is to do so?
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO DID SOMETHING TODAY AND FOR ALL THAT YOU WILL DO TOMORROW,

What are you hiding from people?
You can't hide from us forever!!
You are going to have to answer to us sooner or later.
At the very least at the polls...
I just watched senator kyle on Hannity, he said in the bill everyone would get a z visa that went through a secuity check then they will end chain migration by clearing up the back log of everyone on the list now which is 176 years worth of back log to be allowed immediatly in this country,
176 years worth everybody getting that! unbelieveable!! are they crazy, they might as well open the border and let them in!!!
Please ignore my spelling mistakes as I can not think while I'm in shock! 8O

I totally understand SOSAD, I cannot spell or think when I am furious! :x :x :evil:Quote:

Hopefully the text of this new super Amnesty will be out soon. I went to read it in see if the North American union stuff our still in it. Bush won't sign it if it is not.
Maybe this would be a good talking point, I wonder how many relitives 176 years worth of chain migration, relitives of the people here amount to. It has to be a whole bunch, does anyone know how many relitives they allow in in a year??? we can multiply that by 176 8OQuote:

It's supposed to be in the lawbreakers hands tomorrow, according to a report on Lou Dobbs.
I want to read the whole thing! I hope Thomas is fast with this.
