Post Food Stamp Recipients Down 2M Under Trump

Despite getting zero credit from the media, President Donald Trump continues to deliver positive results to the American taxpayers in just under one year in office, and he’s only getting started.

Adding to the growing list of accomplishments that can be credited to Trump, food stamp use has taken a big drop since Barack Obama left the White House with the country in shambles.

Sarcastically referred to as the “food stamp president,” Mr. Obama has seen another piece of his precious legacy fall by the wayside, and it isn’t a positive one.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, food stamp recipients have decreased by more than two million under Trump.

Via Fox News, “Food stamp recipients down 2M under Trump, USDA figures show”:

Since Donald Trump became president, the Dow Jones industrial average has climbed to 25,000 and fewer Americans are unemployed.

Another interesting fact: The number of people collecting food stamps has declined by more than two million.

Data released by the Department of Agriculture show that the number of participants in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), otherwise known as food stamps, dropped to 42,182,443 for fiscal 2017 – a decline of 2,036,920 from the fiscal 2016 total of 44,219,363.

USDA figures since show that the program has gone from costing taxpayers about $250 million for about 2.8 million recipients in 1969, under President Richard Nixon, to a peak of costing nearly $80 billion for nearly 48 million recipients in 2013, under President Barack Obama.

The numbers have declined since then, in part because of the booming economy and because some states have restored work requirements needed to qualify for SNAP, Fox News reported. In many cases the work requirements had been waived because of the recession of 2007-09.

The 2017 figure of 42.1 million people assisted is the lowest figure since 2010, when the program assisted 40.3 million people at a cost to taxpayers of $68.2 billion.

While Democrats have dithered, dabbled in crazy Russian conspiracy theories, and played identity politics at the expense of the American people, Trump and the GOP have gotten things done. And they have done it without a party that cares little about governing, only avenging their unexpected election losses last year.

The stock market continues to roar, there will soon be definitive proof that tax reform will be putting more money in the pockets of workers, and the punishing Obamacare mandate has been eliminated – all moves in the right direction.

It is paying off having a businessman in the White House, and this is only the first year of Trump’s term.

Democrats will cry sour grapes over the positive economic news that fewer people are dependent on the government, but there is yet another statistic that will hit the party of poverty pimps directly where it hurts.

Black unemployment is also down under Trump.

Via the Washington Examiner, “Black unemployment rate falls to lowest on record”:

The unemployment rate for black workers fell to the lowest rate on record in December, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday.

The rate fell from 7.2 percent to 6.8 percent in the month, beating the previous low of 7 percent set in April 2000. The bureau has data going back to 1972.

The data point is one of several encouraging milestones that have been reached as the jobs recovery has stretched into its eighth year.

Unemployment also hit a record low for Hispanic Americans in November, although that rate ticked up slightly in December.
It seems that a rising tide lifts all boats, but there will be some way that the Democrats and their winged monkeys in the media will spin this as proof that Trump is a racist. It’s all they’ve got.

2017 was a tough year in many ways due to liberal sedition and obstruction, but it’s hard to argue that Trump isn’t fulfilling his promise to make America great again.

Immigration impacts SNAP and other benefits. Enforcing immigration laws, limiting refugee resettlement and deporting illegal alien families will greatly reduce the dollars given.
    Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
