You watch, there's going to be pressure for GO FUND ME to drop WE BUILD THE WALL. I have no clue who owns GO FUND ME but even if they hate the politics behind WE BUILD THE WALL, they have already and will make a fortune on this group and really don't want to drop them, but pressure will be put on them.

Veteran’s Private Border Wall Project Builds First Section Near El Paso After Raising $22 Million

BY CHARLOTTE CUTHBERTSON AND PETR SVAB
    May 27, 2019 Updated: May 27, 2019Share

An Air Force veteran who lost three limbs in the Iraq War has built a wall on a short section of the U.S.-Mexico border, delivering on a promise to hundreds of thousands of donors.
Brian Kolfage raised more than $22 million and plans to build the wall mile-by-mile in strategic locations, getting permits from local private landowners.
Construction work started May 17 in the El Paso, Texas, metropolitan area, where an influx of illegal immigrants has drastically escalated in recent months—more than 600 percent in the Border Patrol’s El Paso sector in the first seven months of fiscal 2019, compared with the same period the year before.
The wall has a similar design to that used by the Trump administration, made of steel bollards buried several feet deep in the ground and standing 20 to 25 feet above ground. The first section is about a half-mile long and cost less than $10 million. That appears to be comparable to what the government has generally been paying for its wall construction. Kolfage said, however, that the price spiked due to difficult terrain and ended up less than what the government would have paid. He expects that on flat terrain his nonprofit could build for under $4 million a mile, well below the government’s average cost of about $20 million a mile.
“We can’t release full costs yet because of ongoing contracts we are in bid process with,” his press team said, via a text message.

The wall includes all the perks of the one built by the government, such as lighting, sensors, and access roads for the Border Patrol, the team said.
“Today is the big day!” Kolfage said in a May 26 tweet. “Today is the day the haters, the liberal media, and every doubter, chokes on their words. Check back later.”
The next day, he posted a promotional video showing heavy machinery installing sections of the wall.

“This is like our Superbowl. This is our time to shine. To show the donors, first and foremost, that we can be trusted, that we can get the job done,” he told The Epoch Times in a phone call.
He said about three more miles of the wall are slated for construction and should be paid for from the existing funding. His plan is to sell the wall to the government for $1, which would make the government responsible for its maintenance. The technology, such as surveillance cameras and seismic sensors (to detect tunneling under the wall), are compatible with and ready to be hooked into the Border Patrol systems, he said.
He’s also trying to negotiate with the government access to the Roosevelt Reservation (pdf), a 60-foot strip of land along the border in New Mexico, Arizona, and California under federal control. That could give the nonprofit hundreds of more miles to build on, if private funding allows, since large stretches of that border are now only covered by the anti-vehicle fencing, which is only about 5 feet tall and easy to climb over for pedestrians.
    Overcoming Skepticism

Since he started his GoFundMe campaign, some media put Kolfage’s project, and even his integrity, in doubt. Rumors spread online about his misusing the donated funds, which have reached $22 million, although there’s no evidence he has.

A rumor that Kolfage may have bought a yacht with the donated money was spread by Grant Stern, a writer for Occupy Democrats, a left-wing progressive group, based on a single anonymous source. Kolfage said he bought the yacht months before the fundraiser started with money from selling his older boat.
Kolfage initially launched the GoFundMe campaign with a goal of crowdfunding $1 billion and donating it to the federal government for wall construction, saying he’d refund the donations if the goal wasn’t reached or almost reached. After raising some $20 million in 20 days, he indeed started to refund donations, but gave the donors an option to tell GoFundMe not to refund, in which case he would repurpose the donations for a wall built privately. About $6 million was refunded, but a single $6 million donation made up the difference, Snopes reported.
Setting up a nonprofit, We Build the Wall, the project established a website to solicit further donations.
The project has overcome some delays and has held back on some information, such as where it intends to build.
“We can’t go public with the information exactly because there are groups—different liberal groups—that do want to attack it and want to do everything to stop it,” Kolfage said at one of the project’s town halls.
Since the news broke that the nonprofit is following through on its promise, thousands of donations have streamed in, the GoFundMe page indicates.

    Kolfage Story

Kolfage was severely injured in combat on Sept. 11, 2004, losing both legs and his right arm when an enemy rocket hit the Balad Air Base north of Baghdad.
After retiring from the military, Kolfage founded a coffee company, called Military Grade Coffee. In 2018, he took over from conservative columnist and author John Hawkins the management of the Right Wing News (RWN) Facebook page, which was followed by more than 3 million people.
Kolfage set up the RWNOfficial.com conservative political news and commentary website, and used the RWN and other Facebook pages to promote content from the site.
A cursory review of the site showed headlines in sensational tone and articles written as a mix of news and commentary.
On Oct. 11, 2018, all three Kolfage’s pages were shut down, including the one for his coffee business, with its more than 200,000 fans. Facebook said the sites were purged for breaking rules against “spam and coordinated inauthentic behavior.” Kolfage said that nothing of this applied to his business. He believed he was targeted for political reasons.
Kolfage acknowledged to NBC News that he was handling administration and finances for the now-defunct FreedomDaily website, which was known for inaccurate, sensational reporting.
FreedomDaily’s former employees said Kolfage used online petitions to collect email addresses, which were then used to distribute FreedomDaily content.
Update: The article has been updated with further information from Brian Kolfage, his press team, and his “We The People Will Build the Wall” GoFundMe page. Information has also been added about the U.S.-Mexico border and the barriers along it.

Bannon-Led Border Wall Group Unveils Mile-Long Segment On Private Property

    by Tyler Durden
    Tue, 05/28/2019 - 11:55

A non-profit organization established to privately fund President Trump's southern border wall has completed nearly a mile-long section on private land near El Paso, Texas.
We Build The Wall - a nonprofit founded by triple amputee veteran Brian Kolfage, boasts former White House Chief Strategist and former Breitbart executive Steve Bannon as its director, while former Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach is the effort's general counsel.
According to Kolfage, the segment took just three days to complete.

"It’s just under one mile long," he told the Daily Mail, adding "The wall starts at the Rio Grande River and goes up Mount Cristo Reywhere the US Army Corps of engineers said it was impossible to build."
Kolfage said once everything is said and done, his organization will sell the wall, which cost between $6million and $8million to build, to the federal government for the bargain price of $1.
'We're going to sell this wall to them for $1 and release the title to them,' he said. 'We can't give the government the money because that's not the way it works. But we wanted to show the American people how to get this job done.' -Daily Mail
We Build The Wall announced in a series of social media posts on Monday that construction had commenced on the Texas landowner's property, days after a federal judge blocked President Trump from tapping into billions in Pentagon funds to begin work on two of the highest-priority wall segments - one spanning 46 miles in New Mexico, while the other 5-mile section was slated for Yuma, Arizona.

This is the first time any private organization has built border wall on private land," said former Kansas Secretary of State and general counsel for the wall project, Kris Kobach, who told Fox & Friends on Monday that the project was undertaken due to the "ridiculously large gap" near Mount Cristo Rey which drug and human smugglers have been entering the United States. Kobach added that the Army Corps of Engineers had previously deemed the strip of land too rugged for fencing.
"It's amazing to me how crowdfunding can successfully raise a lot of money, and how many Americans care about this," Kobach told CNN.
Jeff Allen told CNN he owns the property where We Build the Wall's team is working, and he's excited to see it.
"They are doing an incredible job," he said. "I have fought illegals on this property for six years. I love my country and this is a step in protecting my country."
Daniel Garcia Salinas, the director of a nearby museum on the Mexican side of the border, told CNN the new wall went up rapidly over the weekend, changing the horizon behind the Museo Casa de Adobe.
Garcia said that when he had left the museum Friday afternoon there was no fencing there. By Saturday morning, he said, portions of new wall had been constructed.
"They moved very quickly," he said. -CNN

Bannon, meanwhile, told CNN on Monday that the stretch of private wall connects two 21-mile segments of existing fence.
"Border Patrol told us it's the No. 1 most important miles to close. The tough terrain always left it off the government list," said Bannon. "And that's what we focus on -- private land that is not in the program and take the toughest first."
"The whole idea is we want to supplement and complement what the federal government is doing," added Kobach. "We can complement it by closing the gap and making that wall in El Paso that much more effective."
    GoFundMe
Kolfage's GoFundMe project was established in December, and raised over $20 million in donations. The average donation was $67, with 300,000 people contributing according to Kobach. The project appeared to have stalled at one point, leading some to raise questions over what happened to the funds.
Recent reports detailed how some donors questioned why they hadn't seen any construction despite the millions donated, but organizers said they had to keep plans secret to protect the project.
"Remember powerful people want to stop our progress, so to not tip anyone off we are radio silent!" Kolfage wrote in a Facebook post shared by the group earlier this month. "The (American Civil Liberties Union) would file a lawsuit to impede our wall success if they knew where and when."
On Monday, Kolfage hit back over Twitter, writing "All the haters said it was impossible!! Bahaha where ya at now?"

This is probably the ONLY WAY we're going to get something significant done on the border and you JUST KNOW the enemies of this nation are BRAINSTORMING on how to stop this movement.

PRIVATE BORDER WALL HIT WITH CEASE AND DESIST FROM LOCAL GOVERNMENT

    8:34 PM 05/28/2019 | USAndrew Kerr | Investigative Reporter

The half-mile private border wall that sprung up over Memorial Day weekend was hit with a cease and desist order Tuesday for being built in violation of a Sunland Park, New Mexico, city ordinance.
The wall, built near El Paso, Texas, by a nonprofit organization funded by triple-amputee Airforce veteran Brian Kolfage’s viral $20 million GoFundMe fundraising campaign, didn’t obtain a building permit prior to breaking ground, Sunland Park city officials told KTSM.
“We have issued a cease and desist to the owner of the property,” Sunland Park Democratic Mayor Javier Perea said at a press conference Tuesday. “At this point, it will be turned over to the courts for follow up in the matter.”
Kolfage claimed on Twitter that his organization, We Build The Wall, was given the “green light to build,” and said the city’s cease and desist was “bullshit.”
    “Keep donating,” Kolfage added.
But former White House strategist and We Build The Wall director Steve Bannon told Yahoo News on Monday that his group hastily “purchased the rights” to construct a wall on the private land. (RELATED: Construction On The First-Ever Private Border Wall Begins)
“We had to catch them by surprise,” Bannon said, adding that local residents are “gonna freak out” when they see the hastily constructed wall.
Perea said the owner of the private property housing Kolfage’s wall submitted an “incomplete” application for the wall on Friday, then began construction shortly after.
“There was no survey submitted with the plans at this point; there’s no site plan developed or turned into the city of Sunland Park,” Perea said. “Also, city ordinance only allows a wall up to six feet tall, and this far exceeds that.”

The mayor said the typical permitting process takes about two months.
“Just submitting an application one day and expecting a result on the next is not sufficient time,” he said.
Perea said city officials were denied access to the work site after learning Thursday that the private wall would be constructed.
It’s unclear whether the city has the authority to tear down the private wall.
“I would have to consult with my staff and attorneys as to what further actions can be done at this point,” Perea said.

HOPE THESE GUYS DIDN'T SCREW THIS THING UP????? There is absolutely NO WAY I could believe these guys, along with this contractor would do what they did when the city ordinance did not allow any fences over 6 feet. NO WAY NO HOW could these guys be that stupid and furthermore, the city knew what these people were going to do and they would have had the cops out there to stop them if this was the case. That 6 feet city ordinance argument against this fence is INSULTING. Can't be the case. The 1st. thing anybody would have looked into are the city ordinances and that would have happened weeks and weeks ago.

Liberal Mayor of Sunland Park Issues Cease and Desist Order Against “We Build the Wall” — Founder Brian Kolfage Responds (VIDEO)

by Jim Hoft May 29, 2019 402 Comments

For months the liberal media mocked “We Build the Wall” founder and organizer Brian Kolfage and his noble plan to use private donations to help build the much-needed security wall between the US and Mexico. Brian raised over $20 million in private donations from over 260,000 individuals to build a border wall on the US southern border.

This Memorial Day Weekend the “We Build the Wall” organization built their first half mile of border wall near El Paso, Texas.

** Please donate to this incredible organization here.

Then on Tuesday the Democrat Mayor of Sunland Park announced the construction of a privately-funded border barrier on private property over Memorial Day weekend was not in compliance with City ordinance.
Sunland Park Mayor Javier Perea issued a cease and desist order against “We Build the Wall” as they were wrapping up their project west of El Paso.

“We Build the Wall” refuted the liberal mayor’s charges.
We Build The Wall Inc. emailed ABC-7 the following statement:
“We Build The Wall has done everything they need to do to be in compliance with all regulations. We’ve had members from Sunland Park city government out to inspect the site and to witness the first concrete pour. We believe this is a last ditch effort to intimidate us from completing this historic project by a local government with a long history of corruption problems.”

Please call the corrupt officials in Sunland Park and tell then to stop playing games.
On Wednesday The Gateway Pundit spoke with Brian Kolfage, the founder of ‘We Build the Wall.” Brian told us this was nothing more than a witch hunt.

Brian Kolfage: We believe we have the correct permits. We have done everything necessary to remain in compliance. The city inspectors were down and gave the approval last week. This is just a political witch hunt and we are not going to back down.
We will post any updates as this story develops.
More… This is interesting. The Sunland Park Facebook Page has a Mexican administrator(?)
