I remember when Op, WB was taking place. And it wasn't just the Border States. Where I was born and raised (Michigan) was in full co-operation(voluntarily) with OP,WB.
During 2-4th grade I was always hearing the HS kids talk about WetBacks.
At first I didn't know what they were talking about or what a wet back was.
Then some older friends sat me down and clued me in on what was going on.
Thinking back, you'd be surprised on how many of the kids wanted to get involved in tracking down illegal aliens.
Then in the 1975 I went to SoCal and got a taste of reality until 2007.

If it was the same today, this problem would have been long gone years ago.

Resolving this issue will not recreate the American Dream, but it will be a step toward recreating it. Most men define themselves by their work. If they can't get work, they feel worthless. This creates unstable families, unstable communities, and a sense that the country is not working for them. Put these folks back to work and their perception changes. Hope and optimism replace despair.

Focusing on the concerns of regular folks can become a foundation for the formulation of tax and trade policies which are in the best interests of Americans.

To recreate the American Dream many things are needed now.

    1. Illegal immigration along with curbing legal immigration and securing the borders.

    2. Stoping the welfare state.

    3. Stoping the entitlement belief that we are all entitled to everything.

    4. Going back to the belief in equal oppurtunity and not equal outcome.

    5. Accepting not everyone will make it, and we can't force someone. If they fail because of themselves its not our problem.

    6. Accepting that there needs to be different class's of people poor, middle, rich

    7. Chaning how Unions currently operate and giving employers more power back.

    8. Changing how the healthcare system works entirely. Either its fully private or fully socialized but not the care is private but the major payers is socialized.

    9. Realizing we are not another country. Our responsibility is our people and nothing more unless we are threatened.

    10. Realizing that we need to protect American economical interests even if it pisses off other countries.
