    All the fences in the world are pointless if we will not police the interior. If we cannot throw out the illegals who manage to get in, then they will always find a way to get in.

    But it is also true that if we do not control our borders, then policing the interior against illegals is also pointless. The two must go hand in hand. The borders are the glamorous part, there are lots of cool, reassuring pictures of walls and toys. Policing the interior is less glamorous and requires skilled and committed personal willing to confront illegals personally, a lot grittier business.
