'Active shooter situation' reported at Colorado high school
By M. Alex Johnson, Staff Writer, NBC News
Hospital personnel were told to prepare for a "mass injury incident" after two people were reported injured in a shooting Friday at a high school in Colorado.
A nursing supervisor at the Medical Center of Aurora told NBC News that the hospital was on standby for ambulances coming Arapahoe High School in Centennial.
NBC station KUSA of Denver reported that two people were inured in what police described as an "active shooter situation." No one was in custody, the station reported.
The school is part of the Littleton public school systems, based in Arapahoe County — the same county where James Eagan Holmes is accused of having killed 12 people in a movie theater in the town of Aurora.
