Police: ‘Migrant’ Chased Young Girl Into NYC Traffic, Girl Seriously Injured

NEW YORK CITY, NY (The New York Post) – The FDNY firefighter who confronted his daughter’s alleged attacker in court returned Monday in hopes of another face-off, insisting that “justice has not been served until he’s off the street.”

Omar Wilks returned to Queens court to get a glimpse of suspect Kevin Ramtahal, one week after the dad’s outburst got him escorted out of a courtroom.

But the 23-year-old creep — who is accused of chasing Wilks’ 14-year-old daughter, Amara, into the street, where she was hit by a car — waived his court appearance.

“I was definitely hoping to see him today. I was looking forward to it,” the outraged father told The Post.

Assistant District Attorney Kevin Ramnarain said Monday prosecutors intended to put Ramtahal’s case before a grand jury, meaning felony charges could soon be in the pipeline.

“I feel that it’s a step in the right direction, but we still haven’t quite gotten there as it relates to getting justice,” Wilks told The Post. “Not only is he a danger to my child, he’s a danger to all children out here. Justice has not been served until he is off the street.

Ramtahal — who is being held on $2,500 bail — faces a number of charges, including endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment. He’s due back in court Dec. 30.

Wilks’ daughter had been walking to school around 7:30 a.m. Dec. 6 when Ramtahal yelled, “I’m coming for you!”

The taunts prompted the panicked teen to sprint into the street, where she was struck by a car and suffered serious injuries to her leg.

The father, who is a firefighter with Engine 294 in Queens, responded to what he believed was a routine accident — only find it was his own daughter bleeding on the ground.

“She’s devastated emotionally and she’s in enormous physical pain,” Wilks said. “It’s going to take a lot of time for her to get better. She has a lot of trauma.”

*Ramtahal is not a citizen, and came to this country from Trinidad and Tobago.
