It is likely that hurricane watches and flood warnings will be issued Tuesday along the U.S. eastern seaboard. According to the 11:00pm advisory: A west- northwestward to northwestward motion and an increase in forward speed are expected during the next couple of days.
Maximum sustained winds are near 140 mph (220 km/h) with higher gusts. Florence is a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Some strengthening is expected during the next 36 hours, and Florence is expected to be an extremely dangerous major hurricane through Thursday.

"Don't Wait Until It's Too Late" - North Carolina Governor Orders Mandatory Evacuation

"Don't wait until it is too late. It could put your lives and lives of emergency responders in danger."

in Florida this doesn't mean you have to evacuate; this just means you are on your own; first responder's will not come to your assistance

Latest update at 11AM has Florence stopping short of Wilmington, NC, and moving west to make landfall around S. Myrtle Beach/Murrells Inlet/Georgetown and moving toward Columbia, SC. Since 5 pm yesterday, this is a really big change in the track forecast. Yesterday morning, the track was going directly over Raleigh! Instead of 60-70 mph winds, now we are expecting ~40 mph winds. I'm thankful for the change since I live in Raleigh, but my husband and I have many friends in SC and we are now worried for them. Prayers for all who will be affected by this monster would be much appreciated!
