Thread: Plug the leak, then start dipping water

Today Trump is tweeting about ICE getting MS-13 out.

Most people realize when a boat springs a leak, first plug the leak, then start dipping water.

It is wonderful that ICE is getting a few out, but while they get one out thousands more pour in.

ICE only has 5,000 agents and I don't think they work the borders, Border Patrol works the borders. I think it's the broader agency CBP, Customs and Border Protection that needs to broaden its efforts. There's something really screwy about the way resources are allocated. They need to revamp the whole organization.

Then when ICE does get some out, it will not be like a cat chasing its tail.

Trump will stop the flow. Stay tuned. I think starting out he thought the agencies could do this if ordered to do so, but that proves false. Even when ordered to stop the flow they either refuse or can't, so they aren't the solution.

He got the funds for the military, he should militarize to border. He's had plenty of time but he appears to have backed off from his no amnesty for DACA. That's another one. He could have, on day one as he campaigned, terminated DACA by EO. He did not. Now he has a growing problem.

I heard that! Trump needs to figure out a way to get that damn border wall he promised us built. No, I'm not talking about the fencing he's now lying about at his rallies.

LOL!! Yeah, they're both common language in the United States. Where you've been hiding out? My parents told me "we'll see" my whole life. I rather like my version of "stay tuned".

We need a different plan altogether. These agencies can't do it, don't do it. We have half the illegal border crossings now than we had 10 years ago, but we have twice the border agents, 700 miles of fencing, and billions of dollars worth of cameras and surveillance. It still doesn't get the job done. In fact, they do less with more, so, there's something wrong with that plan, thus, we need a different plan, one that doesn't cost US all these billions and billions of dollars every year.

Trump will come up with one.

Yes, and there's only one way that will ever happen and that is to authorize state and local law enforcement agencies to make those arrests and process them for deportation. Can't force them to do it, but at least authorize them with assurances they won't be sued by the federal government for doing so. Those police officers all report to voters, their citizens, who have the power to demand they do their jobs and remove illegal aliens from their communities. State traffic courts can give them their "due process", after all it's a trafficking issue, no different than being in the wrong lane, they're in the wrong country.

Simple 2 question process:

1. are you a US citizen, yes or no, verify
2. do you have valid unexpired documents to be in the US, yes or no, verify
3. if no and no, then out you go.

Put 'em on the bus and haul 'em home, big buses, caravans of buses, every day all across the country. Problem is solved in 2 years or less. Otherwise, it will never be solved by law enforcement anywhere at any level. Ever.

BUT they will just flow right back in if there's a porous border. As the OP said, "Plug the leak!"
