American apathy paved way for Obama's illegal alien amnesty

Memo to those Americans who stood on the sidelines:

Today is the day when more than 2 million illegal aliens between the ages of 15 and 31 can apply for "temporary" work permits and eventually join the 7 million illegals already working in non-agricultural jobs.

During the past several years years members of the lazy and biased mainstream media have bombarded you with stories about the "Dreamers," children who had "nothing to say" about being brought here illegally by parents who have no respect for the law or American sovereignty. To be sure, it is easy to show compassion for some of them - but not at the expense of those Americans who are the victims of economic pain being inflicted upon them by their own federal government.

You knew something was wrong with this approach to solving the illegal immigration crisis, but you said nothing. Oh, perhaps you complained to your family members, your friends, your favorite bartender, but not a word to those members of Congress who for years have been creating incentives for people to enter this country illegally and then have the gall to tell us that our immigration policy is "broken." Get the picture? They had a hand in "breaking" it, and now we and our descendants will have to pay the price for their dereliction of duty.

And you helped them do it.

These "kids" kept pushing their demands in your face, parading through the streets, sometimes even sitting down in the middle of busy intersections and blocking traffic. And you couldn't even pick up the phone to call your member of Congress.

Twenty million of your fellow citizens are unable to find full-time employment, and you are standing around with your hands in your pockets while they are being sold out by the man who in 2008 had the audacity to promise us "hope and change." In retrospect, it looks as though the only ones who have benefited from this promise are those here illegally.

Many Americans like you, who have been mislead by the media, believe that Obama's amnesty - the 8th amnesty since 1986 - is all about allowing these "kids" to pursue a higher education. Some of them certainly will, but the reality is this:

There is nothing in Obama's amnesty requiring them to continue their education after receiving their work permits. All that is required of them when applying is to be enrolled in classes or the GED program; once they have the work permit they can drop out of their classes and be home free.

Feeling betrayed? Well, you should, especially if your or a family member is out of work. And just think: All it's going to cost these kids for the privilege of competing with you for jobs is $465.

But what is it going to cost you in the long run? The jury is still out on this one. We're being told that no public money is going to be used to bankroll what Obama sees as a down payment on the Hispanic vote. But the feds have lied to us before.

The first two years of the program could cost between $467 million and $585 million, and raise $484 million, which implies a $121 million loss for the government. More than 1,400 full-time employees and contractors would be needed to process the applications. ("Deportation Proposal Could Cost $585 million," AP, 7/24/2012).

You've heard that people get the government they deserve? Or as my grandmother used to say, you've made your bed, now lie in it.

Dave Gorak is so right on in this article. This would have been so easy in 1986 or even 1991 if americans would have stood up with the few of us that did stand up for Americans. Americns do not feel for other Americans until the ox goring happens to their ox. If gov't gets away with goring my ox, in time they will gore your ox, but it was more important to save ten cents on a head of lettuce than to do the right thing! Enjoy your salad, some Amricans have paid dearly for that dime!
