American voters now agree with Donald Trump: He’s the ‘presumptive nominee’ for GOP: poll

When Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump declared he was the "presumptive nominee" this week, much news coverage challenged him on it. A new survey reveals that GOP voters appear to agree with Mr. Trump: 89 percent now agree that the candidate will win the nomination, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll released Friday.

The number of Republican voters who believe Mr. Trump will be the nominee has risen by 18 percentage points in less than a week. The poll analysis cites his sweeping primary victories in New York and five other states in recent days as deciding factors.

"To show how far Trump has come in a presidential bid that most considered highly improbable at the time, just 25 percent of Republicans said he was the likely nominee," Rasmussen reported.

Americans in general agree. Among all likely voters, 80 percent believe the billionaire will be on the national ballot in seven months.

Mr. Trump's chief rival also appears to be the chosen one. The poll found that 91 percent of Democrats — and 84 percent of all likely voters — see former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as the likely Democratic nominee. And the horse race? Among all voters, the pair are neck and neck, though there are persistent misgivings about both of them

"Trump and Clinton are now tied at 38 percent each among all likely voters. But 24 percent say they will vote third-party or stay home if those are the major-party nominees," the poll noted.

"It's moment of truth time for the '#Never Trump crowd': Do they want four years of Clinton in the White House or a Republican president they strongly disagree with?" the poll analysis asked.

"Trump's remaining GOP opponents, Ted Cruz and John Kasich, are counting on Tuesday's Indiana primary to be their firewall to stop his candidacy short of the 1,237 delegates needed to be declared the nominee on the first ballot at July's national Republican convention. Cruz and Kasich no longer have a mathematical chance of earning 1,237 delegates in the remaining state primaries, so they are pinning their hopes for the nomination on a deadlocked convention."

The survey of 1,000 Likely U.S. voters was conducted on April 27-28 following Tuesday's primaries.

CBS Makes Stunning Trump Announcement… Nobody Saw This Coming

The liberal media has been telling us over and over again that there’s no chance that billionaire businessman Donald Trump can beat former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in November. And when it comes to liberal media, there’s no bluer, more liberal stalwart than CBS News.

That’s why Trump fans must have been stunned to find a commentary posted Thursday on the network’s website. What it stated could be summed up easily by its headline: “Yes, Donald Trump can beat Hillary Clinton.”

“How would Donald Trump fare in a general election against Hillary Clinton?” the article, by CBS News commentator Will Rahn, began. “The conventional wisdom is that he wouldn’t stand a chance. The GOP is divided. His campaign, despite a recent spate of landslide primary wins, appears to have its own civil war going on. His favorability numbers are at historic lows for a nominee.”

However, Rahn argued that wasn’t the case, saying that arguments about his lack of electability are “also perhaps overstated. The Manhattan billionaire does have a narrow path to the White House. In fact, he may be the GOP’s most electable option at this point, at least among the candidates who are actually still running for the job.”

He also pointed out that Trump would be the only candidate willing to hit the Clintons hard over their sex scandals.

“What happens when Trump, after Hillary inevitably accuses him of sexism, says that Bill is a rapist, a serial assaulter of women, and that she is his enabler?” Rahn wrote.

“What happens when he incorporates this into his stump speech? The upside, if you can call it that, to Trump’s refusal to act ‘presidential’ is that he is the only candidate who will go that far. Trump, and Trump alone, is the only candidate who would not only resurrect all the Clinton sex scandals, but make them a centerpiece of his campaign.”
And that’s not the only thing Rahn brought up in his commentary for CBS.

“The Clintons are no strangers to scandals financial and otherwise, and while bringing up all that baggage, in some cases discredited, would seem too low for a normal candidate, Trump will almost certainly embrace all of it,” he added.

While the piece was also filled with all sorts of that leftist nonsense — one never hears Rahn talk about the times Hillary Clinton went “too low” by insinuating Barack Obama was a Muslim or by leading a full-on character assault against the women who accused her husband of sexual impropriety — the fact that CBS was even willing to admit it was proof that the liberal media is finally coming to grips with the fact Trump might win.

I can only imagine the tears hitting the keyboard as Rahn slowly typed this one out. After all these years of shilling for Obama and Hillary, their dreams could be undone by a real estate developer from Manhattan.

Those tears are delicious, Mr. Rahn. Keep them coming. I suspect this November, you’ll be weeping like Glenn Beck at the end of “Terms of Endearment.”

They might not like the messenger, but if any American gives enough thought to how much we have lost in standing and wealth, Trumps message is right on the money to begin the reparation process. Americans are starving for a better standing in the world financially and want to begin the process of not having to be politically correct all the time and doing what is right for the people of this country.
